Home is Wherever I'm with You!

Well lots of crazy things have been happening with the Zellners lately. If you have been following my facebook comments at all you have probably read the countless posts that display my dislike for our current apartment or really just apartment life in general. There have been many ups and downs lately in regards to purchasing our own home... but recently we've had a big push to look and move forward. So while nothing has officially been confirmed... Ray and I might be moving closer to home ownership a lot quicker than previously expected! But I always remember that God's timing is always perfect! So it is His timeline that we will follow:) It is just refreshing to know that we are continuing to move forward whether that's toward September or the beginning of next year:)

Summer Fun Updates... end of June:)

This Summer has been so much fun! I have had the opportunity to do a little work (ESY Summer School) and to have some fun time with friends. Today Summer Session I of ESY ended. I have 18 days until Summer Session II... then almost 15 before the Fall school year starts. This past week was a little slower for me but I did enjoy several fun activities. I enjoyed several nights at home with the husband. We've been mainly cooking dinner at home and enjoying a blockbuster movie/ relaxing night in with the furbs. On Wednesday afternoon after a crazy morning where my car once again had decided to stop functioning on me and a not so successful day in class, I spent an amazing time with two of my favorite Fant friends. Kristin and big boy Bryson and I went and explored Stonebriar Mall for several hours catching up on summer activities and amazed at sweet B's new words/tricks/activities. I cannot believe how big he is getting and I am so excited to see all the new things he'll learn this summer. I also can't wait for him to have more sweet little friends... but that is definitely something that we will think about in the future. Thursday I spent the afternoon with Julie, my sweet friend from our ABF and my carpool buddy to ESY Summer School. We enjoyed lunch and then ventured over to Yumilicious at the Shops in Allen. I love that place as the cake batter is currently my favorite choice for this summer. After our tasty treats we enjoyed more pool time and catch up. Julie is such a sweet girl and I am so thankful for her friendship and look forward to many more hang out days with her and the ABF ladies. Tomorrow I will be going to Wylie to see some of those fabulous ladies for another lunch date and pool time with friends.

I love the opportunity that I have been given this summer. I love working but also having some personal time to spend with friends and of course my husband. It is a perfect time to get refreshed for the fall of next year:)

Summer Updates!

This summer has already been filled with so many different and amazing activities. The husband and I have already enjoyed a fabulous vacation with best friends to Cozumel, Mexico. I have finished my first week of ESY Summer School. Over the past few weeks I have also enjoyed several ladies nights including my dessert date night with Duckee, yogurt hang out with Daniela, and a super fun ABF ladies night of cooking with Courtney. Within our ABF Honeymooner's Group, a friend had sweet baby Pearson. This past Wednesday several of the ladies got together to cook a few meals for the new family of three. It was so much fun hanging out with such wonderful women and of course getting to serve a fabulous family in our group was the topping on the cake! We are so excited to meet this sweet boy on July 6 where we are scheduled to bring them a delicious meal. I absolutely cannot wait:)

This summer I absolutely look forward to many more date nights, excursions around north Dallas, and relaxing nights at home with Ray and the furbs. Here's to wishing you all a fabulous Summer and to all the activities to come:)

Summer School Fun w/ Julie!

This summer I have taken a role as a teaching assistant in Plano ISD for ESY (Extended School Year) Summer School. I even get to see two of my kiddos from school:) Each day I have the wonderful opportunity to carpool with a sweet friend, Julie Zoutendam, from our ABF Honeymooner's group at our church. It has been so much fun to share our summer together. This past Thursday... which should easily be labeled as our "Friday" since we only attend four hours a day from Monday through Thursday we decided to enjoy an afternoon of fun activities including tasty Gloria's Mexican Food for lunch at the Shops in Fairview and pool time back at her apartment. Here are a few pictures of our afternoon hang out:)

Julie is such a sweet girl and I am so thankful to share our summer together. Here's to our days in ESY and to many more days of fun in the sun!

Downtown McKinney Scavenger Hunt Fun with Frogs!

Saturday afternoon, Ray and I decided to head to downtown McKinney for an afternoon out. We decided to stop by a few of our favorite shops including Mom and Popcorn Co and of course had to walk by my absolute favorite Salsa Shop. This time I decided to not step foot inside and refrain from tasting all the wonderful sugary spreads since we literally just bought a bag of of all types of delicious treats but I can't wait to go back very soon. We walked up and down the streets looking at all the cute shops, locating restaurants and wine stores that we wanted to try, and even went inside a book store to discuss some of our old favorites. The husband was absolutely in love. He was definitely a reader as a child and showed me some of his choices including Ender's Game, the Hardy Boys, and choose your own adventure books. Plus it got us out of the heat which is always good in my book. Sometime in between our walk around the town I decided to hunt for all the absolutely adorable individually stylized and painted frogs located by each store. We then made a sort of scavenger hunt out of them and discussed which were our favorites. Here are some of the cute ones we found. So enjoy our pictures of our fun Saturday in Downtown McKinney, our lunch at Square Burger, and our scavenger hunt fun with frogs!

Those of you in the area... do you recognize any of these adorable frogs? Which ones are your favorites?

Guest Post: How to Crack a Coconut in Cozumel by Kristin Fant

Step 1: Jump really high and pull down a coconut

Step 2: Take pictures because you're thrilled that you actually got one of those suckers down!

Step 3: Bang it on the corner of bricks and concrete over and over and over...

Step 4: Feel a little relief that all the banging might actually be working when you see the actual coconut

Step 5: Success!! Drink the fruits coconut milk of your the boys' hard labor

Step 6: Clean up the mess

It was really fun to watch the boys crack open the coconut. In the 45+ minutes we were standing there watching them (even with my attempt to stand in the shade of a tiny pole) I got so burned!!

At least the boys can say they have cracked a coconut with their own two hands!! :)
