Pink Bows and Ballerina Toes, Seeing Double and Fantlet's First, Park Sunday Preview

This weekend was filled with tons of excitement and activity including a baby shower, first birthday, date night, and an afternoon in the park. While each of these activities will eventually find its way to the blog, I wanted to do a small recap just in case it took a bit to update.

Saturday morning, I had the opportunity to co-host a special baby shower for a sweet friend in our ABF at church. The theme was Pink Bows and Ballerina Toes. I think the banner was absolutely adorable made with pink paper onesie and a gray tool tutu.

The shower was held from 2-4PM while the girl's birthday party was from 3-5. Ray and Aubrey celebrated this special day with our Fantlet friends. He even captured a cute photo of the ladies in their birthday wagon. Once I arrived after the party had ended, I was able to see the birthday girls and their sweet brother. He, Aubrey, and the Fantlet twin gals enjoyed an hour of play. I sure love my lady's face. You can see just how much she loves this little boy.

Sunday morning, we had a wonderful church service. Baby girl was so cute in her sweet little mary janes.

After church, we made our way to a park in McKinney.  It was a gorgeous day for a family picnic. I am so in love with this weather and so thankful for these beautiful Sunday Fundays with family.

Picnic in the Park: Date Day

We have been so busy with school, house projects, and everything baby. It was so nice to take a day off and enjoy a picnic in the park with the husband. Thursday during Spring Break, the husband took the day off so that we could get away for the day. That morning, we enjoyed an early morning matinée. We were two of the four people in the theater that morning at 10:15AM. That afternoon, we decided to continue our afternoon and enjoy a picnic. The weather was absolutely perfect! We picnicked at Erwin Park in McKinney. It was a cute hidden treasure. Simplicity was perfect for us. We brought a few afternoon treats and enjoyed some time away.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

 

 

In early March, we enjoyed Dr. Seuss' Birthday Week at school. Each day was a different theme, from slipping into a good book with slippers, wearing green for green eggs and ham, wacky hair Wednesday, crazy socks, and cat in the hat spirit day Friday. We had an absolute blast in first grade. My students told me it was their favorite week by far. The funny thing was it may have been one of the most dedicated weeks of working that we had. With an unexpected ice day and Open House scheduled during this week, it sure made for a crazy but super exciting week.  

 



My kids LOVED the purple hair. I can sure say it was one Wacky Wednesday.  I cannot tell you how many students asked me if it was real or told me that they could see my real hair underneath. Regardless it was super fun and a great way to celebrate Dr. Seuss week.

 

 

On Friday, I set up Dr. Seuss inspired stations. It included creating a Dr. Seuss character with play dough. Talk about the most adorable Thing 1. 

 

Thursday may have been one of the longest teaching days in my teaching career. I arrived to school at 6:00AM and left after 7:45PM. Our student lead Open House was a blur but so good to see the kids shine as they showed their parents all that they had done this year. Enjoy some pictures of our classroom projects.

My Type of March Madness

 

I have to say that adding a baby to the mix surely has kept us on our toes. While things have been a bit of a whirlwind, I have to say we are loving this adventure in parenthood. So here is a picture post of our activities as of late. And of course in my blogging style, no picture is in any specific order. Enjoy!

 

I cannot get enough of this sweet face. Love her beautiful blues. Mommy and daddy wonder if she'll have hazel eyes like us. And she definitely didn't get these gorgeous eye lashes from mommy.

 

 This month we began rice cereal. It changed our lives!

 Ray and I enjoyed a date day to see Non-stop at the Alamo Drafthouse.

 Our little girl is getting so big in her adorable hoodie.

This month we moved baby girl into her room. This was her first official night in her crib. Yes with daylight savings, it sure is bright when baby girl goes to bed.

Our secret to a full night's sleep was when we turned her over on her tummy. She is such a tummy sleeper and is so good at it. Mommy definitely had a few hundred sleepless moments when baby girl was upstairs. Sleep training was very hard on both mommy and baby. But it has made all the difference.

We enjoyed a mommy and daughter day this Spring Break. Oh how she melts this mama's heart.

Wacky Wednesday for Dr. Seuss Birthday Week

I loved all of our fun Open House activities including our Green Eggs and Ham Persuasive Writing, Thing 1 Riddle Books, Area Portraits, Rockstar and Big Dream Writings, etc.

We enjoyed some beautiful walks in the park.

Spring has sprung. She's also wearing 6 month jeggings in this picture. Our baby is so big!

This has surely been my type of March Madness. And while I still haven't found the greatest balance just yet between teacher and mommyhood, I can honestly say that I'm thankful for sweet moments such as these:)

Spring Break Baby: Day 4

Tuesday morning was our final day in the land of sugar. Before we said our good-byes, Grammy and I gave the little a bath. There is nothing better than clean baby snuggles.

Back at our Waldrup family home, it was time for more play time with Oma. Sadly Opa had fallen under the weather that Monday and was pretty much confined to the room as to not to get us sick. Baby girl had a ball. I think Oma did as well;)

Around noon, my brother came over to spend some special time with his niece. Bubba, as we call him, definitely had lots of fun snuggle time as well as a sweet Aggie photo session. Enjoy some pictures of our afternoon with the husband, Oma, Bubba, and baby.

As time quickly past us, we wanted to make a quick trip to see my neighbor, Ann. She has always been a sweet friend of the family and I couldn't wait for her to meet our daughter.

Before our final good-byes with my family, we too had to take a fun family photo session. I sure do love these families. I love watching our families with our sweet babe. I can't wait to see all the changes that will come before our next visit this summer. Until then, hugs and kisses to those we love! Happy Spring Break Baby!
