Fox in Socks

Today Aubrey's daycare hosted a Dr. Seuss Parade in honor of Dr. Seuss' Birthday this upcoming Monday. The children were asked to dress up as a favored Dr. Seuss Character. Mommy went a bit literal on this one as the actual character seemed a bit creepy. So our babe would soon be dressed as Fox in Socks. This handmade outfit turned out super cute. I'm not too sure if anyone really understood it, but I enjoyed a night of crafts for my babe.

I absolutely love that Ray was able to join Auby for the parade at school. Here are a few of her little baby besties. I cannot get enough of these sweet little Dr. Seuss babies.

My Snow Babies!

After a full day of snow with my firsties, I came home to enjoy a day with my snow babies. With temperatures in the high twenties and beautiful white powder on the ground, it was a perfect chance for a winter play date.

I am so thankful for an evening with my snow babies. While our February snow date was brief at best since baby girl was not truly a fan of the cold, we enjoyed several sweet baby snuggles, threw a few frozen snowballs, and crunched our feet in the frozen white.

To Auby and her daddy, I am thankful for each moment, for each breath, and for the chance of experiencing all of God's true beauty. Oh how I love my Snow Babies!

February Ice Day #2

Ice Day #2 has found us covered in paint, fake snow, Cheerios, and broccoli. To say that we have been on the go since 5AM would be an understatement. While our day has been fully filled, it has surely been a lot of fun.

Our little lady didn't get the memo again that schools would be closed for a second day here in North Dallas. Between 4:30 and 5:00AM our little miss was in tears and up for the day. Sadly this wasn't a "she'll go back to sleep" moment. This will be a full week and a few days since she's had a bottle which has probably lead to some of these early morning rises. She likes to cuddle her big girl cup like a lovey, but we are simply in refusal mode at this point. She will usually tell me hungee (hungry), wada (water), or waful (waffle). This morning baby girl was crying for broccoli and cheese. After a bit of breakfast and some morning cuddles, we were all smiles and ready for a morning of baby play and painting fun.

Our second ice day craft was making fake snow. We used a typical online recipe of baking soda and conditioner. What was created was a good 15 minutes of ice day fun.

Here's to a special day of ice day crafts and activities. May she have a really great nap and then more afternoon of ice play.

Little Miss had a great and much needed nap. But our afternoon was a little more up and down. I think the whole house has been a little stir crazy these past two days. Our little girl is definitely testing her boundaries. She's learned to climb on the chair, the couches, her plastic garden, the wooden play school bus, her Einstein toy, and pretty much anything she can. Her favorite thing to do as of late is to say Mommy or Daddy, stand, give a smirk, and then say "sit down" to herself right before she pops up again and does it all over. There are so many times that I would so love to laugh at her, as compared to making a sad face and telling her it was a sad choice or to sit down please. On the not so funny side, we are in the throwing and whining phase when we don't get exactly what we want. This is few and far between, but we have found this to be true over the last two days. I do love that she is so much better at communicating with us. She can tell us if she's tired (nigh nigh), hungry (hungee) and what food, thirsty (wada), or even if there is a toy she wants. Today it was all about the food. Oh how my mini loves her broccoli, waffles, beans, blueberries, cheese, and yogurt. Tonight was definitely an early bedtime for our little, but I have to say... even though it was one of those days, I can't wait to wake up and do it again. Right now we are unsure if we'll see an Ice Day #3 as snow is about to come around 1AM and continue until 9AM tomorrow. So here's to enjoying the sweet moments and unexpected adventures ahead.

February Funday & Ice Day #1

Our February Funday began at 5AM as baby girl did not get the memo that school would be closed due to the ice storm. After an early morning play (oh how a bottle would have put her right back to sleep) she fell back to sleep around 8:30AM after a waffle breakfast and some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. We would later learn that this would be her only nap of the day. Ray worked from home today which gave us some great family time together. Our day consisted of morning mosas and a pancake breakfast, a little Office watching, baby snuggles and play dough play, story times, lots of bunny watching and hopping, two cups of hot chocolate with homemade champagne marshmallows (thanks babe), and a small outdoor exploration to see the ice. Poor girl was a bit of a fuss today. I think her lack of nap the day before and waking up at early hours really off set her schedule. But I have to say, even with a bit of a fuss and a set of tired parents, I really loved this special day and am so thankful for this extra day spent with my loves.

Weekend Shenanigans

Our Saturday and Sunday were filled with jammies, dotted giraffes, backyard exploration, service opportunities, a grocery store trip for much needed supplies for the storm, and waited anticipation of snow. While the morning started off on the chilly side and our sweet babe had been under the weather all week, we enjoyed a great afternoon of snuggles and outdoor play in the sun.

On Saturday our ABF assisted Chi Alpha by setting up for the Resurrection Story at La Mirada. Since baby girl hadn't been feeling well, babe and mom stayed home. I am so thankful for the fabulous volunteers who served and for the message given.

 

On Sunday, I was bundled up for church and ready to enjoy some snow with my loves. I had my fingers crossed as my firsties and I were scheduled for an outdoor field trip on Monday. 

On Sunday afternoon, while daddy went to the grocery store (thank you daddy) and baby refused to take more than a 15 minute nap, we enjoyed watching the cold rain and waited for snow or what we would later see as freezing rain.

 

Heart so Full! February 2015 Week 3

This week has brought us full days, quick dinners, a few sick tummies, and lots of to dos. But with that being said, we've also experienced family dance parties, snuggles, bedtime stories, running hugs, baby giggles, and small moments that can make a heart full. I definitely like to focus on the glass half full moments. So here's our week in pictures. May we remember those simple moments that make the day all that it was and a heart full of love.

I am so thankful for moments and for my two loves and our furbabe. My heart is full!

Play Dough Play Date

The simplicity of play dough and holiday crafts made for memorable moments this afternoon with my favorite little lady. After her conference at daycare, daddy returned to work, and mommy and my baby ballerina went home for an afternoon play date, dress up, and our first time with play dough together. 

I just love this baby beauty. Each time I say "ballerina" she shows me her little dancer pose. We of course are holding a chocolate chip cookie as we get into ballerina position. Our afternoon was truly a sweet treat.

My holiday container had lots of great craft pieces including hats, holiday garland, Easter eggs, play dough, and Easter grass. Talk about an hour worth of endless fun.

This was Auby's first experience with play dough (with mommy). She really enjoyed rubbing it in her fingers as well as putting the pieces in the plastic eggs. It was fun to watch her explore the materials.

The Easter grass was a big hit. It was also a big mess but totally worth it and an easy clean up. I do love that she knows the word for mess and repeated it to me a few times.

I love simple afternoons like this. I love watching Auby explore and grow. It is so fun to see my tiny baby become such a big little girl.Thank you sweet girl for a fun afternoon Play Dough Play Date!

Heart Day Festivities 2015

This Valentine's Day was filled with lots of fun and lots of love.

Friday: All week my firsties enjoyed a week of kind acts, Valentine stations, and heart day activities. When Friday came, we celebrated our Friendship Party in style. From Valentine Oobleck, first grade Valentine boxes, Heart Day BINGO, a Magic School Bus "getting charged" video, and sweet friendship treats, our day was filled with fun.

Our little lady enjoyed a fun Friday of Valentine festivities at school. This is her sweet heart day bag and her little Valentine treats. I love her little hand on the bag.

After school, we decided to go to our favorite park. She absolutely adores the slide. We probably spent almost our first full hour going up and down (or backwards as she likes to do). We made a few baby friends as well as a very sweet couple that gave us a diaper as we were very unprepared for this spontaneous trip. I am just amazed at her independence. When did she get so big?

This Valentine's Day, we said good-bye to our babe's beloved bottle. It was a bit rough on our girl but we know there is an end in sight and she will be better for it. 

She did enjoy lots of distractions this Valentine's. We love our pancake Saturdays at the Zellner home. It is so fun to have this cute little helper in the kitchen with us.

After breakfast, little girl climbed in her stroller and said a word that we would never expect. She said the f word... We quickly realized she was saying "walk". It gave us a good laugh (as that is cute at this age?!?) and bundled the babe. It was a beautiful 40 degree morning and a great walk with my two Valentines.

This Valentine's Day, we celebrated a beautiful 80 degree summer day in February. We enjoyed lots of fun and lots of love. Our day included pancake Saturday, a walk, Zellner LOVE crafts, Wall-E fun, time with our custard cutie, and playtime at the park.
