Heart Day Festivities 2015

This Valentine's Day was filled with lots of fun and lots of love.

 {First Grade Valentine's Fun}

Friday: All week my firsties enjoyed a week of kind acts, Valentine stations, and heart day activities. When Friday came, we celebrated our Friendship Party in style. From Valentine Oobleck, first grade Valentine boxes, Heart Day BINGO, a Magic School Bus "getting charged" video, and sweet friendship treats, our day was filled with fun.
 {To my first grade teacher friends... Enjoy a happy and HEALTHY heart day!}

Our little lady enjoyed a fun Friday of Valentine festivities at school. This is her sweet heart day bag and her little Valentine treats. I love her little hand on the bag.
{Auby's Heart Day Fun! Thanks to all of our sweet littles at school for making her feel so special!}

After school, we decided to go to our favorite park. She absolutely adores the slide. We probably spent almost our first full hour going up and down (or backwards as she likes to do). We made a few baby friends as well as a very sweet couple that gave us a diaper as we were very unprepared for this spontaneous trip. I am just amazed at her independence. When did she get so big?

 Good morning baby

This Valentine's Day, we said good-bye to our babe's beloved bottle. It was a bit rough on our girl but we know there is an end in sight and she will be better for it.
She did enjoy lots of distractions this Valentine's. We love our pancake Saturdays at the Zellner home. It is so fun to have this cute little helper in the kitchen with us.
 {We HEART our pancake Saturdays!}
After breakfast, little girl climbed in her stroller and said a word that we would never expect. She said the f word... We quickly realized she was saying "walk". It gave us a good laugh (as that is cute at this age?!?) and bundled the babe. It was a beautiful 40 degree morning and a great walk with my two Valentines.

This Valentine's Day, we celebrated a beautiful 80 degree summer day in February. We enjoyed lots of fun and lots of love. Our day included pancake Saturday, a walk, Zellner LOVE crafts, Wall-E fun, time with our custard cutie, and playtime at the park.

Sunday: Our baby beauty is ready for church.

I sure do LOVE my baby with all my HEART! Happy Valentine Weekend!

Auby Letters: 2.14.14 Happy Heart Day!

Happy Valentine's Day sweet girl!
I could not have asked for a more perfect day with you and your daddy. From your sweet smiles, squishy faces, and fun little squeals as of late, my heart absolutely melts. Valentine's fell on a Friday this year. We got up a little earlier than usual. I went through one other outfit until I found this little number. You took some extra time this morning cuddling with mommy and daddy. You really are such a happy baby. Even though you are still a bit congested, you sure do cheese for the camera.

It's one of mommy and daddy's favorite things. I will say though that you have perfected the lower lip pout if you don't get exactly what you want... but again you typically are a happy girl:) Valentine's morning, after a quick bottle and cuddle sesh, we put you in your bouncer, gave you your little nonster crinkle book, and had a mini photo session. As we spent most of our time together at home this morning, you and daddy took mommy to school since I was running a bit late. All worth it. I said my good-byes but was so excited to see you that afternoon. I was so ready for play time with baby and all the lovely smiles to follow. I will have to say my first graders absolutely adore you. I even had a little girl buy you an adorable pink and brown puppy stuffed animal and a little boy bought you a friendship stick (pencil). I love how he signed it. He signed it, to Obery. I have to say they love you! It was so fun sharing this picture of you with my kids at school. I loved seeing your beautiful face even when I'm away from you. The kids loved it too.  After a fun heart day with my first graders, I was back home with you and daddy. I just can't get enough baby cuddles and kisses. We have loved these past four months and loved celebrating our first heart day together!

XOXO

I have to say this Valentine's Day was extra special. There is something so wonderful about a day of love when you have two very special ones to celebrate it with. Oh how I love these two faces.

This morning I took some extra time cuddling and loving on these two. And what would be a first Valentine's Day celebration without some XOXOs and a mini photo session.

This year, Valentine's fell on a Friday. This is absolutely perfect when you are a first grade teacher. We partied all day long. From Valentine's crafts, decorating cookies, and Valentine's Bingo, we surely had a blast and a ton of sugar! The night before, mommy put together these little gift bags for Aubrey's teachers. We just love her school and her sweet teachers that love her and care for her each day. They are sure a BURST of sunshine to us.

After school, we picked up sweet Aubs and headed home. Mommy had a few treats for daddy and Daddy too had a few plans up his sleeve.

First we played with baby girl. We enjoyed her loud squeals and even got in a few little laughs.I have to say that her morning smiles and afternoon squeals and exploration are some of my favorite moments spent with her and her daddy. After little Miss was put to bed, the husband and I spoke of our past 12 Heart Days spent together. One of our favorite we discussed was in college. It was a picnic at Research Park. The weather was windy and absolutely sunny but cold. We tried our first sips of wine... ok really it was Arbor Mist. ha. We ate fruit and cheese, chocolate covered strawberries, and of course viola. Well after a few minutes of discussion, we went upstairs and he told me that tonight his surprise was just that. He recreated one of our favorite Valentine's Days together. This time with candles, the same picnic basket, Arbor Mist, chocolate covered strawberries, and heart shaped sandwiches. After an exceptionally hard week, I would have to say that it is so nice to be reminded what truly matters. Happy Valentine's Day from our house to yours!

Our Heart Week Fun!

Happy Love Day!
from the Zellners

This week, we have enjoyed many special love day sweets and treats. Each Wednesday, we meet with our ABF bible study group. This week, our sweet friends Anna and Matt made these absolutely delicious Valentine's themed desserts. I will be honest and say I had to sample a few. They were that good! And aren't they just so darn cute?!?!

This week my first graders enjoyed a sweet Friendship Party. From crafts, goodies, and games, my kids sure enjoyed a super sweet and enjoyable afternoon.

Our Valentine's Day was exactly what I wanted. It was a night of pure relaxation. After a long week, all I wanted was a low key night of pjs, Papa Murphy's pizza, and a movie. I'm definitely thankful for my sweet hubby and for amazing and perfect weeks... just like this:)

Love Week Celebrations!

Our Love Week of Celebrations started on a Sunday after church with a trip to Kroger for a few essentials. It also included a sample of chocolate covered strawberries and a Carmel Apple Spice at Starbucks. Look at this super cute heart day cup!

On Monday, one of my sweet kiddos celebrated her 6th birthday and brought these adorable cupcakes to school. The boys enjoyed a sports inspired football cupcake and the girls a sweet flower. It was delicious white cake with butter cream frosting. YUM!

This Valentine's Day came on a Tuesday. We had created fun heart day activities for our Kindergarteners. Each room held a different station including Valentine's stories, heart shaped animals, a love bug picture, and in my room... an "I Love" book. After lunch and specials the parents were invited to attend our Kindergarten Friendship Party. From Valentine's boxes, friendship wands and crafts, an "I love"... inspired hot potato game, and cupcake treats, our party was a blast. Here are some cute pictures from our party.

Kindergarteners are sweet,
Candy is too,
Learning is FUN...
And I am thankful for you!

Love Mrs. Zellner

Ray and my Valentine's this year will be held on Saturday. Ray and I will be spending the whole day together and enjoying all the sappiness that Heart Day brings! On Tuesday the husband was on call and had to work. So may this Saturday be a fun day to celebrate each other and almost a decade of LOVE:)

Heart Day Dinner Date!

Saturday night Ray and I enjoyed an early Valentine's Dinner Date Night. This year we decided to have a low key night in. We dinned on Buca Di Beppo's very tasty spaghetti and meat balls and watched a romantic comedy at home. It was so nice to have a relaxing date night in with my hubs. Happy Love Day a few days early:)
