Auby's Month-iversary Series: 8 Months

Dear Auby,
Happy 8 months dear baby. You are so fun! You have so much personality and make me laugh more than I could have imagined. You are getting so big. I am so proud of you sweet angel in all you do and enjoy watching you explore all the newness of life.  I absolutely love this stage of babyhood and am so excited about the new adventures we will have this month together.

Date
: 6/7/2014
Age: Eight Months
Measurements: I'll have to check at our next appointment. I assume 17 or 18 pounds. But am completely guessing as your next appointment is not until 9 months.
Clothing: You are officially in 9 month clothes except for a few long sleep onesies. Mommy still loves little dresses, shorts and skirts, and of course it all finished with a sweet bow.
Eating:  We are eating lots of new foods this month including fruits, vegetables, crackers, puffs, and even some meat. We've tried blending lots of different foods to incorporate more veggies, but you are not exactly sold just yet. Daddy still loves to make your food. He made strawberry, apples, and beet baby food. You weren't exactly sold, but we found that mixing anything with sweet potatoes including peas, you will eat right up.

You also love your sippy cup. You have two right now. One for daycare and one at home. Your daycare teachers tell me that you also like borrowing some of your sweet friends. You also enjoy drinking water from our glass. You like to be such a big girl. If we aren't watching, you may even pull ours at a table. We are definitely on watch now sneaky girl. You are also still taking formula. Your amounts have changed this month. For some reason, you only want 4 oz when you first wake up. We pack three 6 oz bottles for school not that you drink all of it. Most days you drink between 4-5 at school this month. You also eat oatmeal or other food and puffs at school. We feed you a dinner meal and a bottle before bed.

Sleeping: You really are doing ok. You have had a few ear infections and seem to be teething right now which make these nights hard. Poor baby. For some reason over the past few weeks you have been fighting bed time. You sit up, pull up on the bars of your crib, and cry. We will work through it. Your bedtime is 8PM. We had to move it back so that you are tired enough for bedtime. On nights that you fall asleep in our arms, we hold you extra tight. We love any extra snuggle time with our babe.

New Activities and Random Tidbits:
 - pulling up on everything
- more mobile. You've become a speed racer at crawling on all fours
- You like to chew on pacis backwards. You really don't like them the normal way.
- blowing raspberries on mama
- saying ma-ma 6.7.14. Talk about melted mama's heart
- You like to turn pages in board books. Many times this is to close it so that you may eat it or you turn the pages back to the front, but hey it's the thought that counts.
- We baby proofed the house and even added two gates to our downstairs
- You sit up in your stroller now

- You sit up in your high chair when we go to restaurants.
- You love "talking." I love hearing your
- You enjoy playing with the kiddos at school and at church. What a beautiful social butterfly we have on our hands
- Aubrey you love giving sloppy open mouth kisses.
- We enjoyed celebrating daddy's summer belated birthday at Klyde Warren Park.
- You and daddy came to visit my first grade classroom on the last day of school. The kiddos absolutely LOVE you! They did want to know why you weren't walking or reading stories just yet. You are still a little too young for that I explained;)

Likes: mommy's phone, pulling up and moving around objects, blinds, blowing raspberries and making mouth noises, stuffed animals- Ah Dog and Jake the teddy bear, solids, dancing, making new sounds, baby Einstein toy, music, ABCs, Mommy and baby's morning songs, crawling on all fours, touching everything, splashing in the bath tube, chewing on everything, exersaucer, see and say, shape blocks, crawling under the exersaucer, and so much more:)

Dislikes: car carrier- it's hot, Nose Frieda and anything having to do with wiping your nose, if you cannot get a bottle fast enough, peas, barking that wakes you up, the garage door opening during nap/bedtime, changing clothes because it keeps you from moving.

Watch sweet baby girl grow!

  1. We cannot believe she is growing so fast. I vaguely remember how it was when Alicia was little, but life seems so much faster now. Cannot wait to see our little one very soon!
