Happy Birthday Aubrey Rose

Saying "We are absolutely in love with our daughter," would be the biggest understatement in the world. God has truly blessed us with the most amazing miracle and we are continually reminded by these blessings through her love and all the family and friends that surround us. I can't stop staring at her beautiful face. 10 sweet fingers and toes with mommy's double chin and sweet button nose. Her eyes are of course a sweet blue, her head full of dark hair, and she has daddy's long fingers and toes. Our little monkey has the sweetest little cries. I surely don't want to miss a moment. So while mommy and daddy are running on fumes, here is a recount of baby Aubrey's birthday. So please help us welcome our daughter to the world. May she just be a reminder to all that God is forever faithful and surely is in the blessing business.

Her due date had come and gone. Honestly I was a bit discouraged as we had been told she would most likely be making her debut earlier in the week. I stopped working a few days before and we had family and friends on red alert for the upcoming weekend. I actually had a field trip planned with my first graders for Thursday and just knew this baby body wasn't going to make it walking to the fire station a few blocks away. So while at home we made many plans to keep my mind and body as calm as possible. The days were filled with relaxing moments, mommy and daddy dates, fall activities, and  birthday celebrations. When Sunday arrived... her official due date, I had great intentions of fall baking and relaxing. I even sent Ray on a trip to Kroger to purchase all of my baking supplies. Even though we had plans, my heart wasn't into it. I'm unsure if it was a bit of sadness or simply feeling badly and a bit overwhelmed or maybe all of it, but spent most of the day in bed. This worked to my advantage as 3:30AM had come and my contractions began. Now I'll be honest. This entire pregnancy I was terrified that my water would brake. I just knew that some morning my water would brake in front of my first graders and I would never let down that Mrs. Zellner pottied herself. Ha. As time grew closer and I hadn't really felt too many contractions, I prayed for my water to brake. I was so afraid that I would wait too long or go to the hospital before it was time. Right before 3:00 AM I said a small prayer about the birth of our little girl. I think I felt a bit guilty and selfish as I truly wanted her in my timing. I said Lord I give it to you and told Auby that mommy and daddy were ready when she was and went back to sleep. Then as contractions began I realized that this might actually be it. Over the past few days I had only had maybe one or two a day. And by 5AM, these were strong and coming every 7-10 minutes. I think I was a bit in denial. I kept hoping my water would break so we could just make our way to the hospital. I knew in my heart that this was it, but due to our Friday's hospital visit, I didn't want to be wrong. By 7AM, I woke up Ray and told him that I wanted to go to the hospital and "check."

So in an effort to make sure that I was "really in labor," I made the husband drive around and wait until our doctor's office opened so that they could tell us to make our way to the hospital. At 8:30AM we spoke to the doctor's office and were quickly told to make our way to the hospital. We were actually sitting in the hospital parking lot at this moment. I just needed to be reassured. Moments later, I was checked and was 100% effaced and dilated to a  6. The most beautiful words were spoken and it was said that we were going to have a baby today. I honestly couldn't believe that we were going to be holding our daughter that day and it all happened so incredibly fast. I mean October 7th seemed like a great day to have a baby... plus 7 is my favorite and lucky number:) Families were immediately called. I made my way to the delivery room. The anesthesiologist gave me details about my much requested epidural. While I can't say it didn't hurt and after being stuck several times plus she commented how she kept hitting my bone, all was well and I felt fantastic. At one point, I asked if I could be turned over as my right side of my face felt as though it was falling and I was quickly feeling a little too good. While we waited, I took many naps and in between kept talking to Ray about this pregnancy process and how truly amazed we were. Here is our last picture as a family of two.

At 3PM, I was officially ready to push. I pushed for about an hour and a half then I heard the most beautiful cry. The hour that followed her birth and the moments right before are memories that I will hold for a lifetime. Tears of every emotion poured from my body. Our little girl had finally arrived. The next hours were a blur of doctors and nurses. Our attention was completely consumed by this beautiful baby born at 4:23PM. 7 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long of pure perfection.

I could not be more thankful for my husband. He was my biggest cheerleader and seriously cared for my every need. I think my facebook status said it perfectly, "I have never seen my husband more attractive than when he is singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Disney songs to our daughter at all hours of the night. He is truly my hero!"

We are so in love. The next few posts will give details about the hospital and special visits. So get ready as we do for our ride into parenthood and our exciting first days with Miss Aubrey.

40 Week Baby Bump/Official Due Date

Number of weeks: 40 Weeks/Aubrey's official due date 10.6.13
Measurement: Per our last appointment, Aubrey was measuring on track. I'm still measuring behind which means, not a lot of room for little lady.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a jackfruit (again I had to google what this was). She is about 18.9 to 20.9 inches long and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds.
Interesting Fact: Per the Bump, Aubrey's nails and hair are continuing to grow. There is also continued progress of lung development until her birth.
Heart Beat: At the hospital, they monitored her heart rate which ranged from 155-140.
Total Weight Gain: +29.2. I actually lost a few ounces; which to me is totally impossible. But I have a lot of swelling in my face, hands, and feet.
Pregnancy Clothes: I have been wearing the same clothes over and over it seems these days. I really am not caring too much as I know she should be arriving anytime and my bags are packed.
Tiger Stripes: I've definitely gained a few tiger stripes this pregnancy on both my sides and a few on my tummy. The best part is I really can't see my tummy or sides these days. I am not too worried as I know baby girl will be totally worth it.
Symptoms: Swelling, reflux, lack of sleep (understatement of the year:), lots of pressure, stiffness, congestion, dry skin, baby brain, clumsiness, and exhaustion. Many of these symptoms I'm sure will last for a bit after pregnancy.
Sleep: I get up about every hour or two. I think my mind is too tired to wonder these days plus baby girl has been sleeping pretty well at night. But every time I feel the slightest movement, I'm hoping for my water to break or a contraction to begin. I have also been napping quite a bit lately as I have been off of school. I'm sure this has helped quite a bit.
Movement: As I've said it a 100 times, I love feeling baby girl move. I will have to say that this is something I will so miss once she arrives. Her movement now is more erratic, stronger, and is typically pushing in an area that feels a bit uncomfortable as she is really running out of room.
Cravings: I am hungry all the time. I have gone back to my cheese and cracker craving, sweets, and cold drinks.
Gender Predictions: We are welcoming our sweet daughter, Aubrey Rose Zellner in early October. Our official due date is today, but it is looking as though she's holding out until her induction on the 10th. So by then, we will be meeting our sweet baby girl. Can't wait:)
Most Memorable Moment: My final day at school was Wednesday. Since then, I've enjoyed so many sweet moments with the husband and friends...really just trying to keep me sane until little girl comes. I've enjoyed a pumpkin patching, lunch dates, birthday celebrations, and my roommate had her son this week. What special moments have been shared this week.
What I Miss: fitting into clothes, being comfortable, rolling over, and sleep. All still holds true.
What I look forward to: I really do enjoy spending my last few days with Ray and I as a family of two. I am so ready for her to arrive. I feel so uncomfortable and grumpy these days. I'm making it, but am so exhausted and just feel so stretched thin. Regardless it is amazing to know that each day that passes is another great day with the hubs and friends, then within 0-4 days she will arrive! I can't wait to hold baby girl in my arms and see what that beautiful face looks like.

Duckee's 30th Birthday Dinner, Pumpkin Patching, and an Official Due Date!

This weekend was filled with so many wonderful activities. From lots of rest and relaxation, birthday celebrations with friends, fall weather activities, and so much more. This weekend among waiting on our little lady to make her official debut, gave us afternoons of a quick hospital trip, mall walking, cookie cake treats, a Breaking Bad marathon, lunch dates to Casa Ritas, Starbucks trip for a grande caramel spice, pumpkin patching, 30th birthday celebrations, and blogging opportunities. While I can't say that I feel the absolute best and am honestly just making it these last few days, it is so nice to share these special moments this weekend with sweet friends and the husband. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our weekend.

40 Weeks and Aubrey's official due date 10.6.13

Pregnant Pumpkin Patching!

Today marks the day before Aubrey's official due date and my 40th week. Each morning that I wake up and she has not arrived, I am honestly disappointed. I am so ready for our precious little pumpkin to arrive and to join our sweet little family. I know it's in God's timing. We are just so excited to meet our sweet girl. So in honor of our amazing cold front and the first day it has felt like fall, the husband I decided to enjoy an afternoon lunch date, Starbucks trip, and pumpkin patching to enjoy another day as a family of two until her little arrival. Each year we travel to Frisco's Pumpkin on the Prairie to enjoy an afternoon of patching. This year would be extra special as we had to take this fun pregnancy and pumpkin photo. But typically we have beautiful weather and while Fall does feel pretty amazing, this fall morning was a bit cold and damp. The temp read in the mid 50s and the wind did make for a cold afternoon. So after we found our Zellner pumpkin and three smaller pumpkins, we decided to make our way back home. It was definitely a special little outing but we are so excited for a trip with our own little pumpkin once she arrives! So here's to all that fall has to offer, to cooler weather, and exciting little adventures.

Final Countdown...

 

Today was my 39 week appointment at the doctor's office. I could tell all day that something was rather different. She felt so low and I felt as though I had to hold her up most of the day. I just am feeling really uncomfortable these last few days. At the appointment I was told she was super low and dilated to a good 3. I was a 1 last Wednesday. Maybe walking around the fair helped a little?!?! Regardless the guestimate is that little Miss Aubrey may make her debut this weekend or before. Then it was said... or she could just stop everything and wait it out. Regardless it is amazing to think that within a week or two our little girl will have joined us. I'm honestly feeling it all. Weeks ago, I would embarrassingly have to admit that I was not ready. I enjoyed her being nice and safe inside my tummy, feeling her beautiful baby kicks, and knowing that I had plenty of time to check off my to dos. But as each day has passed, I am growing more and more ready. I leave my classroom each day as though I'm not coming back until the holidays. I have a wonderful substitute that I am so blessed to have and know my kids are in amazing hands. I have a fabulous team that has worked so hard to keep me calm and help me in every way possible. I have a great support system with my husband who has seriously been so calm and helpful, friends that offer such great advice and encouragement, and family that is beyond excited to meet our sweet lady. With days(ish) standing between us, we cannot wait. With bags packed, house somewhat clean, and baby girl's things ready to go... I am so ready to meet our beautiful lady. It's amazing to imagine what our next adventures will be in parenthood. So here's to the craziness, the messes, and all the unexpected yet wonderful things to come.

 



 

39 Weeks and Counting!

Number of weeks: 39 Weeks
Measurement: Per our last appointment, Aubrey was measuring on track. I am measuring about 37-38 weeks. We will find out more at our appointment on Monday.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a watermelon. She is about 18.9 to 20.9 inches long and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. Her head is now about the same circumference as her abdomen.
Interesting Fact: Per the Bump, Aubrey is able to flex her limbs. Her brain is still developing as she is getting smarter by the week, and her nails may even extend past her fingertips.
Heart Beat: 135 beats per minute at our last appointment. Our next appointment is on Monday.
Total Weight Gain: +29.8. That was what the scale read this morning. After our weekend at the fair, I'm sure that number will go up by 5 lbs next week:) I've also had a LOT OF SWELLING. While my loving husband claims I look the same, I really feel like I'm starting to retain a lot of water in my face, arms, hands, and of course feet. I guess it's time to increase the water intake and putting my feet up more. Maybe this will help with being uncomfortable.
Pregnancy Clothes: I hate that I still try to fit into clothes that are too small. I refuse to buy anything maternity at this point as I am so close to my due date. So I wear the same clothes over and over at this point.
Tiger Stripes: I've definitely gained a few tiger stripes this pregnancy. The best part is I really can't see my tummy or sides these days. I am not too worried as I know baby girl will be totally worth it.
Symptoms: Swelling, reflux, lack of sleep (understatement of the year:), lots of pressure, stiffness, congestion, dry skin, baby brain, clumsiness, and exhaustion. Many of these symptoms I'm sure will last for a bit after pregnancy.
Sleep: I get up about every hour to two. There are times that I may fall back to sleep out of exhaustion, but typically my mind is racing. I'm in the nesting phase, which makes the idea of getting things done so much more appealing than sleep. I do try to nap on weekends for an hour or two which seems to help. It is just so hard to get comfortable. Why is it is so hard to roll over or get out of bed?!?!
Movement: Little girl acts as though she's doggy paddling most of the time or giving lots of big stretches and kicks. She's found my ribs and seems to want to stand most days or take a diver's pose. I do love those baby movements, but sure does make me short of breath or at times try to push her back in. My kids have even seen her movement in the classroom. This sure makes for great kiddo conversation and questions.
Cravings: I am hungry all the time. I do crave my sweets but have had an interesting craving for bacon lately. For those that know me, I'm not a huge "meat" fan so this is kind of strange to me.
Gender Predictions: We are welcoming our sweet daughter, Aubrey Rose Zellner in early October. Our official due date is October 6th. I'll be working up until this next Friday, October 4th (if I make it that long). If she doesn't decide to arrive on her own by then, she will be induced on Thursday, October 10th. So by then, we will be meeting our sweet baby girl. Can't wait:)
Most Memorable Moment: This past Friday, my room moms and kiddos through me a surprise baby shower. They each gave a special book to Miss Aubrey with a sweet note inside. They also put together a album that guessed her birthday, height, and weight. It also gave advice for the little miss. Talk about adorable and melt your heart moments.
What I Miss: fitting into clothes, being comfortable, rolling over, and sleep.
What I look forward to: I can't wait to meet our baby girl. I would love to finish my last week at school with my kids, but I am so ready to begin our new adventures in parenthood with my best friend and the greatest partner and husband that God could ever have blessed me with. I'm so ready!

38 Week Baby Bump

Number of weeks: 38 Weeks
Measurement: To my amazement our little girl is measuring as of this last week right at 37 weeks and 2 days. She already weighs approximately 7.2 pounds (give or take 8 oz). Mommy is measuring (as of our appointment on Friday) between 35-36 weeks.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a pumpkin. (How perfect for the first day of fall:) She is about 18.9 to 20.9 inches long and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. Her head is now about the same circumference as her abdomen.
Interesting Fact: Per the Bump, Aubrey may have about an inch of hair already. Per our last sonogram, our doctor confirmed that she could already see her beautiful locks. She is also slowly shedding that white goo on her skin (called vernix caseosa) but you might see some of it at birth.
Heart Beat: 145 bpm at our last appointment.
Total Weight Gain: +28.5
Pregnancy Clothes: I've been stocking up on a few maternity and non maternity items lately. I figure it is time to get our hospital bags packed. While currently I'm in almost 100% maternity, I've been enjoying some comfy oversized pjs and tops to relax in. I know this will be great after little miss arrives as well.
Tiger Stripes: While it has been pretty hard to see my sides these weeks, I have definitely gained many on my sides. All a symptom of pregnancy. I'm not too concerned. She will be totally worth it:)
Symptoms: I love the way the Bump refers to it as "lightning crouch." I do have shooting pains down my legs from little miss hitting nerves, lots of swelling in both my hands and feet, acid reflux, sore muscles, grumpiness, and irritability:)
Sleep: This week I've done a little better. I think it is out of pure exhaustion that I am able to go back to sleep after my 1-2 hour bathroom trips. It is still very difficult getting out of bed as I am pretty stiff and half asleep getting up. I'm sure this is all in preparation for Aubrey's arrival.
Movement: Since Aubrey is starting to run out of room, I feel a lot more jabs and pushes these days. She's constantly moving. I wonder if this will let us know anything about her little personality when she's older.
Cravings: anything sweet
Gender Predictions: We are welcoming our sweet daughter, Aubrey Rose Zellner in early October. Our official due date is October 6th. If she doesn't decide to arrive on her own by then, she will be induced on Thursday, October 10th. So by then, we will be meeting our sweet baby girl. Can't wait:)
Most Memorable Moment: I enjoyed buying some last minute purchases for little miss and mommy. This week we also celebrated a few sweet friends from a bestie's 30th birthday party and a double diaper shower for some sweet ABF mamas.
What I Miss: being comfortable, rolling over, and sleep.
What I look forward to: I am looking forward to finishing my last two weeks or 10 days of school with my kids. Then I cannot wait to meet our sweet girl. I have loved this pregnancy but am ready to have her in my arms. I will miss those beautiful kicks and rolls from inside the tummy.

Thank Heaven...

It was at our 36 week appointment that we found out the most amazing news. We would be seeing our daughter one more time by sono before her arrival in early October. The week of our appointment, the husband and I had so much fun using our extra gift cards. While many of our necessary baby items were bought, I will have to say we did have to buy a few just super cute adorable baby girl items including this owl hat, shoes, and baby softies.

So with our sono scheduled, a half day and sub planned, Ray and I made our way to our doctor's office. Sadly an extra snooze and unexpected rain shower caused us to be a few minutes late. Once in the room, I quickly got over the tardiness (on my part) of our arrival and grabbed some tissues as we saw our beautiful baby girl as she was cuddled up next to my hip bone and continued to make the sweetest little lip pursing and sucking movements.

 

I know for some this picture is a bit out of focused and a bit large, but I love her pudgy nose after mommy and big baby lips that she has gotten from daddy. It was almost impossible to see her little side profile as she was so scrunched inside her little home. While I am still measuring small at 35-36 weeks, she is measuring 37 weeks and 2 days and is already estimated to weigh 7 pounds 2 ounces. She has a full head of hair and her heart beat was 145 bpm. Everything looked perfect. We also were able to double check her lady parts as we didn't get a chance to check the first time. We definitely have a lady. After our sonogram, I was checked and sadly I have minimal dilation. So minimal in fact I'm about a half a cm right now and baby girl is still pretty high. It definitely looks as though she's going to stay put until her due date. Regardless, it is amazing to think that she will be joining us within the next few weeks. Excited, scared, anxious, nervous... but most of all blessed! We cannot wait to meet this sweet girl.

37 Weeks/Full Term

Number of weeks: 37 Weeks
Measurement: Our baby girl is measuring about a week small. Because of this, our amazing doctor would like to do a sono just to see that beautiful baby and check her size/position.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a winter melon. She is around 18.9 to 20.9 inches and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. She's gaining about 1/2 ounce each day.
Interesting Fact: Aubrey is officially full term. According to the bump, she is practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking. She's getting her first sticky poop (called meconium) ready for her first diaper.
Heart Beat: 140 bpm at our last appointment.
Total Weight Gain: +27.2
Pregnancy Clothes: This baby belly is continuing to grow all.the.time even though I'm still a bit on the smaller size. I personally feel huge ha. I'm 100% in pregnancy clothes. This past Friday, I bought a few clothes to wear at the hospital...some even non maternity:)
Tiger Stripes: While it has been pretty hard to see my sides these weeks, I have definitely gained many on my sides. All a symptom of pregnancy. I'm not too concerned. She will be totally worth it:)
Symptoms: My poor feet and hands swell daily. They are pretty painful but my blood pressure is great so there is no concern at this point. I am experiencing reflux, lower body pain, and just feel uncomfortable most of the time. It is impossible to bend, sit or lay down comfortably, roll over, get up. Anyway only 3 more weeks to go:)
Sleep: This has been the worst week in regards to sleep. I have gotten up about every hour to two hours. I have pretty much been able to go back to sleep most days, but the other nights my mind sure does wonder. Then I make my mental to do lists. I also run into random walls and doors as I am half asleep. This does not make for a happy preggo mama.
Movement: I love watching my belly rolls. The doctor says that our baby is officially in the right position which is great news. She loves stretching and pushing on mama's tummy.
Cravings: Sweet tea
Gender Predictions: We are welcoming our sweet daughter, Aubrey Rose Zellner in early October. Our official due date is October 6th. If she doesn't decide to arrive on her own by then, she will be induced on Thursday, October 10th. So by then, we will be meeting our sweet baby girl. Can't wait:)
Most Memorable Moment: This weekend was a perfect combo of relaxation and productivity. I enjoyed a birthday tradition of lunch and pedis with my bestie. I came home to a cleaned garage and the car seat put into the car. We cleaned the closets and began packing backs and making house ready for baby.
What I Miss: fitting into clothes, rolling over, sleep, and normal bathroom breaks
What I look forward to: This week, my school is throwing me a baby shower and on Friday we get to see our sweet girl again. Talk about an amazing next few days. After this weekend... she can come whenever she is ready:) Mommy and Daddy can't wait to meet you sweet lady!

What a beautiful and hot day in Sugar Land for maternity pictures. I couldn't have asked for a sweeter gift. We are so thankful to be able to remember this precious moment in our lives and for the little girl that's growing inside.

A is for Aubrey and ABF Baby Shower

This past Sunday, two very sweet friends from my ABF hosted a gorgeous baby shower for baby Aubrey. The decorations were adorable, the food delicious, and all in celebration of our beautiful baby girl that is expected to arrive in about four weeks. Here are a few pictures of the food and table décor. Treats included fruit and dip, Nothing Bundt Cakes delicious options including red velvet, lemon, chocolate chip, and white chocolate raspberry, and a ginger ale punch. YUM!



 

Everything from the diaper cake, wreath with a sweet letter A, Aubrey banner, and sign in picture were perfect. I absolutely loved how the décor matched our nursery colors perfectly.



 

For our shower game, we played guess the gender old wives tales. While I did do some guessing, I have to say I did pretty well and tied for first. I guess a 50/50 shot never hurt either. It was so fun! Here are some of the shower attendants.

36 Week Baby Bump/9 Months

Number of weeks: 36 weeks and 9 months pregnant! Only 4 more to go (if that:)
Measurement: Last week, baby girl was measuring a few days behind. We will know more at our appointment on Wednesday.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a honeydew. She weighs approximately 4.2 pounds to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches long.
Interesting Fact: Per the bump, Aubrey is almost able to breath on her own, her skin is getting smooth and soft, and circulation and immune system is almost good to go.
Heart Beat: 160 bpm at our last appointment.
Total Weight Gain: +25
Pregnancy Clothes: This baby belly is continuing to grow all.the.time! I'm 100% in pregnancy clothes, but I do have to say I wore a non maternity dress at my shower today:)
Tiger Stripes: While it has been pretty hard to see my sides these weeks, I have definitely gained many on my sides. All a symptom of pregnancy. I'm not too concerned.
Symptoms: The swelling and muscle pain has become my biggest issue lately. I'm good in the morning, but definitely get more tired, muscles get painful, and my feet swell badly by the end of the day. It's funny when everyone talks to my feet these days. I also have really bad reflux. I've gotten sick only once in the night, but definitely have a sore throat and pain most of the night.
Sleep: I get up typically every 2-3 hours. My reflux is the worst at night. It is also difficult to get up from the bed. I've completely stopped trying to talk myself out of going to the bathroom. It isn't going to work. I have definitely started to go to bed earlier to catch up on some zzzzzs.
Movement: I love watching my belly rolls. She most likely has turned and I'm pretty sure I'm getting special time with her feet in my ribs these days. She definitely can take my breath away... and I mean for real. It is so nice to feel her move and know that she is safe in her little home. Home at least for the next month.
Cravings: I really want a margarita or some fruity drink with an umbrella. Right now I could use some queso and chips:)
Gender Predictions: We are welcoming our sweet daughter, Aubrey Rose Zellner in early October.
Most Memorable Moment: This weekend, Ray and I had a fun birthday/date weekend of food trucks, work days, and a date night at Savory Bistro. Talk about good times with the husband. It is strange to think we have only 4 more weekends of this. I also was blessed with a sweet shower from my ABF. Two sweet girls threw me an adorable shower. I am so appreciative of the wonderful people in our life that are excited to celebrate our sweet miracle girl:)
What I Miss: fitting into clothes, rolling over, sleep, and normal bathroom breaks
What I look forward to: I am excited to get ready for baby girl and spend some more quality time with my husband just the two of us. I can't wait to see miss Aubrey but am trying to cherish these moments as a family of two before our new adventures begin as parents.

Nursery Teaser Preview

This weekend the husband and I shared a wonderful couple of days of productivity and relaxing. From errand running, cleaning, and nursery décor shopping, I have to say that we accomplished quite a bit. Of course we had to enjoy a few breaks in between. This baby body doesn't last as long as it used to. Monday night, minus a small issue with a fallen shelf, we put our last detail on the wall. So here they are... a few nursery teaser pictures. I love the way the colors work together. Our colors are mint, yellow, gray, and white. The theme is a bird theme (mainly owls).

Daddy Love, Aggie Baby on Board, and Prego Thoughts

I am sure thankful for this Daddy's love. He has been so good to me for the past 11 years as well as during this pregnancy. I love the way he loves me and the way he loves his daughter. His words say it all, "I love saying my daughter." This past week was my first week with my students. With 18 new faces, a new school year ahead, and our little girl quickly on her way, I can honestly say that I have been completely and utterly consumed. I'm so thankful for his love and encouragement.

 

This past Saturday began College Football Season. It was time to adorn our maroon and white, and cheer on our Ags as they took on Rice. With all the drama facing Johnny these days, I can say it made for an interesting game. I loved taking these cute pictures of our Aggie gear. Thanks to Kristin for letting me borrow her adorable Aggie Baby on Board shirt. It was a fun way to celebrate our Aggie victory!

With 5 weeks standing in between our little girl's arrival, I have had lots of time to think and have concluded a few thoughts I wanted to include...

 

Prego Thoughts:

1. I would love a "oh help me" handle by the bed as standing up these days is so difficult.

2. When I drop something, I seriously think about how important the object is for me to pick it up.

3. Why do sweets seem so much better, margaritas so much more necessary, and caffeine so much tastier since I have been without these past 8 months?

4. Why is it so difficult to roll over?

5. I dread walking up stairs and constantly being out of breath as little girl pushes on my diaphragm at all times.

6. I don't know why I try to debate myself if I need to go to the bathroom at night. I should know that I won't win.

7. I love the smell of Dreft.

8. How big will my feet swell to?

9. Oh how I need a haircut.

10. At what point I wonder will I start teaching from my roly chair?

11. My biggest fear is my water breaking in the classroom while teaching morning meeting. I for sure do not want to be the teacher that potties herself.

12. I do love Aubrey's sweet nursery. It is coming together so well. It is honestly one of my favorite rooms in our house!

13. I love Aubrey's morning kick session... or really anytime I feel her move. It will be interesting to see if her little personality is anything like what it is in the womb.

14. I'm so excited about a pedicure.

15. I wish I was more comfortable, but I do have to say this has been a really good pregnancy, so can't really complain:)

16. I love baby bumps.

 



35 Week Baby Bump

Number of weeks: 35 weeks. This is my final week as 8 months pregnant.
Measurement: This week, Aubrey is measuring just a bit short of her 35 week place mark. She predicts that I might not make it to 40 weeks. We shall see what Aubrey has in store for us.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a coconut. She weighs approximately 4.2 pounds to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches long.
Interesting Fact: Per the bump, and her hearing is fully developed and responds best to high-pitched noises.  That could be why she responds so well when Mattie squeaks her toys.
Heart Beat: 160 bpm at our last appointment
Total Weight Gain: +23
Pregnancy Clothes: This baby belly is continuing to grow all.the.time! Nothing seems to really fit well and I have gotten a bit frustrated at what to wear these days. Only 5 more weeks to go!
Tiger Stripes: While it has been pretty hard to see my sides these weeks, I have definitely gained many on my sides. All a symptom of pregnancy. I'm not too concerned.
Symptoms: let the swelling and cankles begin! This week has been pretty bad with swelling. My wedding rings are officially off and my calves for sure attach all the way down to the tips of my toes. Other symptoms include acid reflux, weight gain, pelvic pressure, hot flashes, headaches, body aches, and yes... even some waddling!
Sleep: I get up typically every 2-3 hours. At the beginning of the week, it was 1-2. Movement has been very difficult and rolling over and/or getting up is one of my most difficult tasks these days. I wish I had a "help me" bar by the bed.
Movement: To say that our daughter moves is an understatement. She rocks and rolls in this belly. It has been amazing to watch my tummy groove these last so many months. I enjoy her sweet hiccups and belly rolls.
Cravings: sweet tea, sweets, and Taco Bell bean burrito with no onions. All of the above holds true... and ice cream:)
Gender Predictions: We are welcoming our sweet daughter, Aubrey Rose Zellner in early October.
Most Memorable Moment: This week I started my first full week with the kiddos. They are adorable and I know this will be a super fun year in first grade. I am doing quite well with the kids and getting around most of the day. It's at 3:00 when the kids go home that I realize how tired this baby body truly is.
What I Miss: energy, sleep, rolling over and getting up, walking upstairs
What I look forward to: I cannot believe 5 weeks (or less) stand between Ray and I meeting our sweet girl. I am so excited to get our final to do's over with, enjoy my upcoming birthday, then of course see our sweet daughter's beautiful face! But Miss Aubrey please feel free to stay in as long as possible! We will see you soon:)

34 Week Baby Bump

Number of weeks: 34 weeks. I have only 6 or less to go!
Measurement: Per the doctor the two of us are measuring right on track. Little lady continues to explore my right side.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a butternut squash. She weighs approximately 4.2 pounds to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches.
Interesting Fact: Per the bump, and she will recognize and react to simple songs.
Heart Beat: I will find out at our next appointment on Wednesday.
Total Weight Gain: +21
Pregnancy Clothes: This baby belly is continuing to grow which makes most of my clothes a bit tight. I'm definitely excited to be going on a small shopping spree soon since I really have about 6 weeks left.
Tiger Stripes: While it has been pretty hard to see my sides these weeks, I have definitely gained many on my sides. All a symptom of pregnancy. I'm not too concerned.
Symptoms: the ever growing baby belly, acid reflux, leg cramps, lower pelvic and tailbone pain, difficulty breathing, waddling, swelling, and my belly button has almost popped!
Sleep: What is this? ha! I get up every 3 hours on the dot and am really uncomfortable. I also am having difficulty sleeping on my right side for some reason which gives me little to no sleeping options. I have such horrible difficulty rolling over these days. While naps are few and far between, I can say this is my best form of sleep on weekends.
Movement: To say that our daughter moves is an understatement. She rocks and rolls in this belly. It has been amazing to watch my tummy groove these last so many months. I enjoy her sweet hiccups and belly rolls.

Most Memorable Moment: This week, the teachers started back to school to prepare for our children's return and the beginning of the new school year. I am incredibly blessed to teach at my school as I have a wonderful staff and team. It's been a wild ride this week (honestly some really painful moments as a preggo teacher) but I can say that I feel pretty ready and very excited for my kiddos to return tomorrow. What I Miss: sleep, being comfortable, fitting into my clothes, having energy
What I look forward to: Spending the next 6 weeks (or less) with my first graders, finishing up our nursery, and getting ready for Miss Aubrey's arrival. I can't wait to see her beautiful face!

33 Week Baby Bump

Number of weeks: 33 weeks
Measurement: Per the doctor she is measuring right on track. Little lady is laying sideways across my tummy and way in the back.
Baby Size: According to the Bump, Aubrey is the size of a durian fruit (whatever that is... ha). She weighs about 4.2 to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches.
Interesting Fact: Per the bump, and she's keeping her eyes open when she's awake, able to coordinate breathing, sucking, and swallowing, bones are hardening, and lots of brain development.
Heart Beat: Auby likes to run away from the heart monitor each time, but once found was 140 beats per min.
Total Weight Gain: I'll have to check again tomorrow morning. I can def pack on the pounds these days.
Pregnancy Clothes: I've actually grown out of most of my pregnancy clothes and will be going shopping again soon. My tummy has been hanging out of most of them and everything is so tight. It'll be fun to go shopping for school clothes this next weekend.
Tiger Stripes: While it has been pretty hard to see my sides these weeks, I have definitely gained many on my sides. All a symptom of pregnancy. I'm not too concerned.
Symptoms: an ever growing belly, stronger movement, poor sleep, back and lower body pain, yes even some waddling, difficulty sleeping, headaches, grumpiness (ha), clumsiness, and so forth. Baby brain has sure been with me for quite  sometime. At times it seems impossible to think of the right noun and I usually do search for it constantly.
Sleep: I sure do miss my sleep. I get up every 3 hours each night and have lots of tossing and turning. It is so difficult to turn over these days. Sadly I'm really only able to sleep on my left side. Naps are few and far between as I prepare myself to start school tomorrow.

Most Memorable Moment: This weekend two of my best friends threw me a sweet celebration in honor of baby Aubrey's arrival. It was such a perfect shower with sweet friends and family filled with so many adorable touches. It was a true celebration.
What I Miss: sleep, fitting and into my clothing, and my brain.
What I look forward to: I am looking forward to starting school tomorrow. The kids will return in a week. I can't believe that Aubrey will be here in about 7 weeks. Next weekend is a Zellner work weekend. A weekend to purchase more nursery pieces as well as to do some yard work. I'm just excited about all the fun to do's before little Miss arrives. I can't wait:)

Baby Basics

Yesterday Ray and I attended our first baby class. It was called Baby Basics and included all aspects of taking care of baby from birth until about 6 months. Look who we ran into! The Kiekhoefers were also  attending the class. They are sweet friends who used to attend our church. They are expecting a little boy in November. It was a fun class that gave a lot of great information and was just good practice to get ourselves ready for Aubrey. It is amazing to think she'll be here in less than 8 weeks. Anyway these were just a few cute pictures I took at the class. The daddies were definitely having too much fun! Thank you to my soon-to-be daddy that I know will do such an amazing job raising our sweet girl! One class down, and one to go next week!
