One Hour at a Time!

To view our New Work Out Goal... read here!

I'll be honest. There are some days I am so not motivated. I don't really like to get out of my warm bed in the mornings and sometimes I truly feel like this picture. Ha! But honestly it is so nice having something to work toward. Yesterday, Ray and I worked out for about an hour. I've been doing 2 miles on the elliptical to start and then another 2-3 miles on the treadmill while lifting weights. Tonight we'll go for another hour; take the pups on a good walk on Wednesday; Thursday morning workout; Sunday afternoon work out. Our goal currently is about 4 times a week and include walks with the pups. Sadly toward the end of last week we had dropped off our goal, but I'm excited to pick it back up this week. I think the whole concept of working out isn't about focusing on past failures but realizing that each day is a new day. It's about making realistic goals and sticking to them. For me I will set really high and sometimes far fetched goals... so now I'm just going to focus on sticking to my word and not making excuses. I'll always be tired, the days will continue to be long... but again it's one hour of your life at a time! Imagine improving your life one hour a day! Sometimes I think my biggest obstacle really is myself. So don't let you or anything else stand in your way! Good luck with your goals and know that you really can do anything you put your mind to. So again I'll keep you updated!

Car Troubles

I've really been feeling when it comes to my car that my life is very similar to the game of monopoly. I feel like some days are good and others... do not pass go... do not collect $200 sort of thing. As you've probably read I've once again been having car troubles. I am really not a fan, but hey she's been great and she's paid off... which means she's FREE! I've had my Pontiac since high school but it may be her time. Last year she broke down on me so many times I can't remember... and sadly I've come to expect this from my car... it's usually when the mechanics hand over the bill I remember why I hate it so much! ha! But really I've just been pushing to wait another few years so my next car can officially be my mama car... I hope it can wait that long! But really when it starts costing more to fix her than it would for a "new" used car... I'll probably be changing my mind. I guess we'll cross that bridge when it comes. Anyway thanks to those that asked about the Zellner carpool situation. Ha! Anyway my girl will be back in our parking lot this afternoon and hopefully working well! Please knock on wood just for a few more years:)

A Snow Covered Spring!

Weekend Wrap Up: First Days of Spring!

This weekend was definitely filled with unexpected events!

This past weekend we were going to head to Oklahoma for a fun birthday bash in OK City with friends; however, a few minor mishaps changed our plans. One major issue...My poor Pontiac is on its last leg. Friday, as I tried to travel home for the weekend, my car had other plans. Many of my great co-workers came to my rescue but again she was not budging. I won't hear back until Monday afternoon for the status of my car... but again keeping my fingers crossed she's got a few more good years in there. This would not be a great time to have to let her go. I will say this... I am very thankful this happened at work this time and not on the freeway as usual. So with funds on our mind, we decided to stay home from our trip and pick up the pups from the pet center they had been at and had a cozy evening at home. It was said to snow this weekend... and again with the first day of Spring around the corner... I couldn't imagine another snow covered Dallas day this winter...

But boy was I about to be wrong! On Saturday, Ray and I decided that we needed a date night... just the two of us. So we decided to go see Alice in Wonderland! And yes Ray finally got to see a movie in 3D. He was in love:)

Ray and I with our snazzy 3D glasses:)

On our way home from the theater it began to snow! And this is what we woke up to on Sunday morning! Welcome the first days of Spring!

While many of this past weekend's events were unexpected... I will say that I had an amazing time with my cute little fam of four! I think sometimes we are reminded that we need to rest and enjoy all that we are given and not to take these special moments for granted. I wish you all a very wonderful start to your week and enjoy all the moments given... even if they may be unexpected:)

Memorial Day Sun Rays!

This Memorial Day weekend, a family vaca is in the works to go to Panama City Beach, Florida! And I couldn't be more excited! We will be meeting up with his brother, sister-in- law, niece, his two sisters plus their boyfriends and potential others that may join us. What is so funny is this is actually turning into a "kids" vacation... holla! It's good to still be at the "kiddy" table!

To be correct all credit should go to my sister-in-law for planning such a wonderful retreat! This is the condo that we will be staying in:) It is a 4 bedroom/ 4 bath condo right on the beach! I absolutely can't wait:)

Enjoy!

Fun @ The Fants!

On Tuesday, Ray and I were invited over for a fun dinner with the Fants... and of course baby B! I swear each time I see the little man he has grown! He'll be three months by this weekend! Time sure does fly:)

I couldn't resist taking this sweet picture of our boys! I just love those cute little dimples and that sweet smile!

For dinner we ordered Chilis to go... super yummy as always and cookies for dessert! It was a great night of catching up and hearing about all the activities we had been up to. We also got to catch up on the latest episode of Chuck!

Thank you guys for such a fun evening and we absolutely look forward to another one very very soon:)

Tuesday Tidbit Time!

We wish you a very Happy Tuesday on this semi early morning!

As many of you know... I kind of like blogging... ok reality check... I really love it! I love having the opportunity to use this "scrapbook diary" as a way to communicate with those I love near and far about all that our little family has been up to. It's been such a wonderful way to capture our lives... the good... bad... and the not so cute;)

Well it's Tuesday again and I love telling you about fun little tidbits about me or my husband. It's fun for people that are just getting to know you and those that have known you your entire lives... b/c these are just random pieces of useless knowledge but really allow people to see the real you!

1. The best part of my day is waking up next to my husband! I am actually becoming a cuddle-er!
2. I am a very loyal friend! I don't need 100s of friends... just a handfull of best friends that I love growing old with!
3. I love having 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and one niece... who knew that a simple wedding could extend your family by so much;) I love love love you guys! My heart is so full!
4. I am a worry wart... wow I just gained 10-20 years on my life for that comment. Ha!
5. For a feminist (j/k) ... I am very dependent:)
6. In an interview once... I was asked what is something negative about myself... first thing that popped out of my mouth was... anal! Probably not the best thing to say in an interview?!?! (But I got the job! I am pretty good at explaining myself)
7. It is exceptionally hard to wake up when it is still dark outside... angry fist to Daylight Savings time!
8. I love that my husband cooks... but sometimes feel awkward when people thank me for such a wonderful meal! He really is such an amazing chef and I give all the credit to him. I'm a great host tho... so its a great balance:)
9. I am a clean freak... just please don't look in the closets... :) ha! (random but I did spend a lot of last night cleaning ours out)
10. I still use a planner! AND LOVE IT!
11. When Ray makes dinner we split a paper towel. He hates to be wasteful!
12. Is it weird that I secretly like when Ray and I are twinsies?!?! (like in the picture:)

I figure 12 is good for now... a little random but all I got! So many more funtivities will be coming up shortly. Can't wait to blog about them. Have a wonderful day!

What are some of your random tidbits?!?!

Love,
Alicia
