Our First Steps

9 months and we are taking our first steps. I am dumb founded. I guess she is just like her daddy as he too walked at 9 months. While she of course is in no way a full time walker, she continues to amaze me and definitely keeps me on my toes. I am so proud of this little lady and love that she continues to grow and change daily. So enjoy her first steps (on tape at least. She took two steps with our Alabama family a few days earlier). It still makes my heart smile. Enjoy!

End of July iphone Picture Post

{Aubrey with her LEGOLAND pup}

What a fun summer! We've definitely had a lot of laughs, lots of snuggles, a few tears, and a lot of fun. I love that I can snap a quick photo from my phone every now and then as it seems like everything our little babe does is super adorable. Yes spoken as a true first time mama. No bias or anything right?!? Well regardless I have to say that I'm loving the blog. While I may be behind and my only way to catch up is by throwing a huge picture post of randomness (as seen below), it is so fun to have a way that I can blog about our everyday life. I also love the fact that she'll be able to read this later in life. And of course as this is our first child, I am definitely aware that this will change when we (in the future) decide to have our next. I might as well go ahead and enjoy a little bit of typing time when I can. So enjoy a huge picture post of our weeks happenings (may be a few weeks here)

Beach Babes and College Crew Summer Fun!

A few weeks ago, Ray and I found this amazing park "beach" in North Dallas. We couldn't wait to share it with our friends and littles. So we scheduled a fun summer afternoon outing together. With canopy, picnic lunch, and beach accessories in hand, we found a perfect spot. The sand was definitely hot and the canopy was key. The kiddos had a fun time. The sand was a sure hit. I won't tell you just how much my daughter ingested... but hey she was happy for sure!

To say the kiddos loved the water would be an understatement. I loved watching the kids soak up the sun and of course more sand;)

Thank you to our Dukes, Fants, and Hoes for coming and enjoying a fun day at the beach. I can't wait until our next trip!

Our Little Moos on Cow Appreciation Day!

Chick-fil-a's Cow Day

was held on Friday, July 11th. After a fun story time at the Davis Library, Kristin, the kids, and I adorned our white and black cow inspired "costumes" in an effort to get some free goodies.
The Chick-fil-a employees were super sweet and I got a free meal and a free kid's meal for Aubrey... a first of many I'm sure!
Isn't my little moo moo so precious? She loved this little cow stuffed animal that they passed out.
What a fun day with our Fantlet friends. I am so glad that we were able to get together for a fun story time and free lunch. I feel a new tradition has just been started;)

Summer of ABCs: Letter H

Week 4 of our Summer of ABCS has taken us to letter "H." This week we have enjoyed a lot of hand made crafts. On Monday we made these fun little pieces. We made a happy face and heart feet or as a sweet friend said, "happy feet." I just love how they came out. Auby LOVED having her feet painted. While she is not a fan of her hand prints, she laughed and giggled as the paint was smeared across her little piggies. It absolutely cracked me up for sure. We of course enjoyed lots of Hhhh babbles and our foam letters. We talked about different vocabulary such as the word help if she needs something and the word home. We made our "home" out of shapes including a square and triangle. We of course then talked more about our colors and shapes.

This was a fun little art project we did for daddy. It was absolutely perfect. You dab this imaginary ink and then press your desired object on the "magic" paper. No paint, no mess and little to no fuss from baby. I have to say our little week of learning about letter H has surely been a happy one:)

Baby Bloopers & Parenthood

Being a mom is truly one of my greatest jobs. This little gummy, two-toothed grin makes everything worth it. But I will say even with all of this adorable perfection, being a mom and a new parent is a guessing game. It's about trial and error, learning as you go, and of course trying to Google or WebMD things you should never look up. So I thought a post would be a fun way to remember even the odd ball moments. The moments that you laugh at now that it is over. So here it is, the good, the bad, and the messy and to letting it all hang out.

- poop is an official dinner time topic
- it's not about being clean, it's about how much is visible to the outside world
- a messy house isn't truly messy if it's filled with toys and books
- showering is optional as long as your hair isn't too greasy
- babytv and little learning shows have helped give me 10 extra minutes so I can clean bottles and get hubby ready for work
- so my daughter has taken food out of her mouth to feed the dogs and then definitely used that hand to eat again (this one I'm not proud to say has happened... or the fact that I have found her with a huge hair ball in her hand about to be eaten before I quickly stop her)
- I used to change her immediately after she spit up. Now I have to consider the amount of difficulty and struggle it will be to change her vs the amount of spit up. Usually leaving her in her current state wins out. She's a mover and groover for sure.
- I have definitely rewashed the laundry several times as I have left it in the wash too long and had to redo it or couldn't remember if had been washed in the first place.
- We have had to throw away our comforter due to some not so fun explosions.
- A baby hand down my shirt, pulling down my top, or face plant in my chest is a normal day here at the Zellner casa. It makes it more fun in public when others get to see:)

Anyway that's just a bit for now. I'm sure many bloopers in parenthood will continue to come. Wishing you a great day from the blog! Happy nap time for baby:)

Summer of ABCs: Letter "E"

Week three is officially in the books. Last week, we enjoyed playing with the letter E. Monday, we had a fun play date with Erin and sweet Eva Mae. I sure do love these ladies and sweet friends. We enjoyed a delicious brunch and baby play time.

Throughout the week, we played with Auby's baby Einstein toy and our foam letter E. We made lots of babble E sounds and played with toy eggs. Happy Summer of ABCs and fun with the letter E!
