Mike's Super Birthday Bash!

This past Sunday after a great ABF Service and time spent with our 4 year olds in Joyland, Ray and I enjoyed a birthday celebration for our friend Mike. We joined our friends at the 3PM showing of Spiderman and later dinned at Maggianos for dinner.

While I am not a comic book buff as many of those that attended, I can still say it was a very enjoyable movie. I liked the choice of cast for Peter Parker as well as the action sequence, and the camera views. While there are already several Spiderman movies out there, I can say that I really enjoyed this movie. For dinner we made our way to Maggianos in Plano. I have eaten there a few times before but had forgotten how good it was. Plus if you order a pasta, you get one to take home for another time. It was delicious:)

It was definitely a fun celebration and a great time to catch up with friends. Happy Birthday to our friend, Mike!

Congrats Nurse Rachel!

We could not be more excited to announce that Rachel is an official nurse! She passed her boards this past week and are so very proud of her and her accomplishments. Congrats to my beautifully talented sister-in-law. We wish you luck on the next chapter in your life and all the adventures to follow.

Sports Themed Dinner Date

This Tuesday, Ray and I held a sports themed dinner for our Fant friends in honor of the All Star Baseball game. We incorporated a few fun sports pieces, adorned ourselves with athletic gear, as well as some very delicious options created by the hubs.

Our dining options included hot dogs, turkey dogs, turkey chili, all the necessary condiments, homemade french fries, nacho cheese popcorn, and watermelon. And our dessert was a delicious chocolate pie courtesy of the Fants.

From the moment our friends arrived, this adorable man was as I just mentioned... adorable. He came prepared with plastic bat and ball in hand and cracked me up all evening. From wearing cute undersized baseball hats to becoming an expert at using the doggy door (Toby was so confused:) to detailing the exact stance and manner baseball is played to riding a miniature bike, all was too cute!!!
 Our amazing Fant Friends:)

It was definitely a night filled with great themes, great food, and great friends!

Summer Dates

This summer has allowed me some extra time to enjoy some summer dates with some sweet friends. Here are a few summer activities, lunch dates, and ice cream socials that I have enjoyed as of late.

On Monday, my girl Gellner and I enjoyed a lunch date at Corner Bakery for a belated birthday celebration and catch up.

On Wednesday I joined several of my adorable kids for yogurt at Yumilicious in Allen. It was amazing to see these three sweet faces and one of my favorite Kindergarten moms from this past year. It was a great time to catch up and spend time with these cuties!

Wednesday night, the husband and I met up with our ABF Bible Study group for a dessert night in Richardson. We began our night and enjoyed 711's free slurpee day as of course the day was July 11. We then enjoyed a progressive dessert night around the square which included restaurants like Yumilicious, Tiff's Treats, and The Sweet Mix.

Oh how I have enjoyed a sweet sweet summer with friends! What are some of your summer favorites?

Zellner Family Visit!

I loved my mother-in-law's sweet words about their Dallas visit this past weekend.

"Thank you so much for sharing your new home with us this weekend. We had a great time, great food and really liked going to your church. Love you both!"

We enjoyed two full days of activities including...
...a pancake breakfast and
morning mosas on the patio

 ...an afternoon in Downtown
McKinney
looking at antiques

...dinning at Square Burger for lunch

 ...taste testing samples from
The Salsa Shop

... a visit to Ray's place of work

...grilling Saturday's dinner with the boys

...enjoyed a game night of Dominoes

...attending The Heights Baptist
Church Service

To our Zellner family,
Thank you for your visit, for a time shared with family, catching up on all things past and present, and offering a place that you may visit and call a second home.

Red, White, and Boom 2012

This 4th of July, Ray and I had a pretty laid back morning.

As the holiday fell on a Wednesday, it was nice to simply be lazy. We enjoyed a few breakfast cinnamon rolls and pretty much hung around in our pjs until the afternoon. Around 4PM, we picked up snow cones from Scallywags Shaved Ice and made our way to Red, White, and Boom in McKinney.

We enjoyed all of the summer holiday festivities from food trucks, bounce houses, corn dogs, kettle corn, funnel cakes...

...but more importantly sampled two of my favorite summer treats including sweet tea and watermelon. YUM!

We arrived around 7:30, laid out a blanket, and dinned on our summer treats. But quickly, hours of talking stotle the time and before we knew it, the sky grew dark and it was time for the fireworks show. It was a pretty good show and we actually had really good seats. We had somehow sat in back of where we thought the show would take place; however, the band later informed us that the show would be behind us... a perfect showing for us.

Happy 4th of July friends!
Thank you to those you have served and those that continue to serve our country for our freedom.
