Twenty Seven & a Birthday on a Boat!

Twenty Seven! It still sounds absolutely crazy to me that I am officially 27 as I still get carded for Rated R movies and at restaurants. But it is true today is my birthday and I couldn't be more excited to celebrate! This morning I woke up to breakfast in bed. I am so thankful that I have such an amazing cook as a husband!

After a wonderful morning of sleeping in, a delicious breakfast, and time with my husband and furbabies, it was time to get dressed and get ready for a day of celebration. I had received a message earlier in the weekend from our favorite Fant friends. The text included these words... "Birthday on a boat." I was sold. So after the hour and a half journey to Richland Chambers Lake we met up with Michael and Kristin and the Bragg family to enjoy a day of adventure. Our time included outdoor fun, washers, a delicious lunch, sundaes on Sunday, wake boarding, water spiders, and of course fun photo sessions. Enjoy some pictures of our fabulous day with friends and a wonderful birthday celebration!

And in celebration of my day I was actually able to stand up on the wake board for the very first time. Believe me... this picture doesn't look pretty (zoom in on the not so cute very focused scowl I have on my face) but shows my victorious moment. It was definitely one amazing day... filled with lots of laughs, great weather, tasty food, fun with friends, a little too much love from the local flies, and one of the largest water spiders I have ever seen that literally took my breath away due to my non stop laughing. What a blessing and a great way to start year Twenty Seven!

Wine a Bit and You'll Feel Better!

Saturday the husband and I traveled to east McKinney to Wales Manor Winery for a free wine tasting and an afternoon adventure. It was a small and quiet location but upon entering into the main tasting room you were welcomed with all of its natural charm. This wine is not sold or marketed in stores but available for purchase at the winery. It's doors are open only on weekends for 10 months out of the year. The husband and I had an amazing time on our afternoon adventure... relaxing and enjoying new wines !

I even found a delicious RED WINE! After our tastings, we ventured to Eddy's Pizza Restaurant in Plano located on 15th and Custer. If you haven't been to Eddy's you are missing out. It has absolutely delicious Italian food in amazing portion sizes for an inexpensive price. Plus it is BYOB which was perfect as we dined on my new favorite Blueberry Merlot.

Once Ray and I returned home, we received a birthday package in the mail. When I opened the package, I found the most amazing gift inside. I received tons of Eric Carle children books. The husband sure knew the perfect way to this girl's heart.

What an absolutely amazing afternoon filled with awesome adventures, special birthday treats, and time spent with my husband. God has truly blessed me these 27 years and I cannot wait for all the moments to come.

Pre Birthday Friday!

The lovely ladies of the ELC sure know how to make a girl feel special! I walked into my classroom to sweet birthday decorations and yummy birthday treats! I even had a special visitor bring us lunch from Tin Star with dessert!

A big thank you to Trout and my other Gellner half... thank you for making my birthday so special, for all the sweet treats, and birthday messages. Here are a few pictures from my pre birthday Friday at work.

Sweet Shopping Saturday

Earlier this week, I realized that my days and even weekends had been confused. This weekend we had absolutely nothing penciled in on the calendar and our days were free to do as we wished. Our Friday was fabulously lazy. After a long week at school, all I wanted to do was enjoy a night of pizza and a few movies at home with the husband and pups. It was Ray who decided that we should enjoy a Sweet Saturday out filled with shopping and of course a celebratory yogurt trip. We purchased a few new pieces of clothing, a new watch since mine had lovingly decided to stop working days before the start of school, and new shoes for school with actual support as I will do a great deal of walking this year. Here are a few photos from my sweet Saturday with my husband.

It's Off to Work We Go!

We've all had them... jobs! We've all shared in many different types of careers and activities that have been shaped by our education and interests. Here I will label some of the different activities that I have experienced since I started my employment journey over a decade ago.

1. I have worked in a cubicle.
2. I have had my own office space.
3. I sold wearables.
4. I have worn heals, ballet flats, and tennis shoes.
5. I have been interviewed as well as interviewed.
6. I have danced, blown bubbles, played musical instruments, and made my own personal instrument.
7. I have worn scrubs.
8. I have sold hearing aids.
9. I have changed diapers.
10. I have sold shoes.
11. I have worked on a cash register.
12. I have worked on tax free weekend... in retail.
13. I have organized a theme party for every holiday in a year.
14. I organized a celebration for national cupcake day.
15. I have worked in a warehouse.
16. I have worked without air conditioning.
17. I have thrown a Christmas party.
18. I have worked from 9-5, 7-3:30 and part time.
19. I have taught children kindergarten through fifth grade as well as special education.
20. I have gotten sick in an interview... one that I was giving.
21. I have had my watch broken.
22. I have received an award.
23. I have never been laid off... thankfully.
24. I have painted an office.
25. I have had a car accident (not my fault) while being at work.

What are some things you have done as an employee?!?
