Dog Sitting, 80's Movie Marathon, Green Thumbs, & Father's Day!

This past weekend was definitely an adventure but oh so much fun! This weekend we had the opportunity to puppy sit for some dear friends. Bella was such a sweet puppy and added a fun mix to our current furbaby group. From puppy play time, to a walk to the puppy park, to long lazy days inside... we had a very fun few days at home. Here are some pictures of the pups during our play time and puppy sitting weekend.

Toby and Bella playing with Bella's Wubba!
I promise no Wubba's or stuffed animals were hurt during this play time. But we may have to go out and purchase one for our little boy. He sure was in love:)

Puppy Park w/ the Hubs and all three Pups!
After I returned home from the bridal shower, Ray and I decided to walk the puppies over to the small puppy park at our apartment. But in this heat, the puppies were more excited about relaxing and exploring under the shade of the trees... until a stick was brought into the picture. A few fetches had been made but with the heat of the summer sun we all returned home to enjoy some cooling A/C and more time of rest and relaxation.

While spending a few nights in with the pups, Ray and I had decided that we would have an 80's Movie Marathon. We enjoyed some pretty amazing favorites including Weird Science, 16 Candles, Teen Wolf, Say Anything, and A Fish Called Wanda. Another Movie Marathon will have to be in the works very soon:)

In regards to Father's Day, I would love to take the opportunity to tell all of the amazing Father's out there to have such a wonderful day and for us to thank you for all that you've done and for all that you have given to us. I wish I could celebrate with a few very special ones out there... but wish them such a wonderful day and all the love in the world. This was just a perfect cartoon for today:) Ha!

This is how my two favorite boys celebrated their Sunday...

... a relaxing day at home!

Green Thumb Update: More growth has been taking place over the last few days for our spices and tomato plant. More little sprouts are beginning to peek out. I cannot wait to see where they'll be in 70 days.

So with all this activity, I am one exhausted lady... but tonight it'll be a fun night just the hubs and I, a good dinner, and an early bed time. Ha! So.... I hope you've enjoyed such a wonderful weekend filled with your own amazing adventures. Until next post.

I Heart Fridays! Harry & Mary:)

So I may be stating the obvious here. But shall I say I am so excited it is officially Friday. Within less than a full work day... I will be back home with the hubs and three puppies (yes three... as we are puppy sitting for the weekend). Plus as I've previously written I am so looking forward to our 80s movie marathon extravaganza. So put the pjs on, fix the side pony tail, and get the pop corn popping b/c tonight we will stay up for a fun sleepover at the Zellners. So something random but noteworthy we've rearranged the furniture in order to have more room for the furbabies to play and while it does look a bit ridiculous... it totally makes our apartment a lot BIGGER than before. So as random or strange as it may look I am thinking we could handle having a larger space for the next few months. Yay for random and last minute ideas. So what's on our agenda for this weekend?

Well to catch us up to speed (as I pretty much do everyday), yesterday I had a fun lunch with Kaylan to catch up on all things! What's funny is that while we've embraced going to the Ginger Man for Tuesday Specials and out to dinner/hang out after work... in the 2 years we have both worked downtown, we have never met during the day. It was only a few weeks ago that we both realized we too could enjoy a lunch together... so yesterday that's exactly what we did.

We enjoyed some Wild About Harry's off Knox in Uptown. What was wonderful is that it is so close to my work that we were able to walk. Now I do understand this is typically blaspheme in the hot summer month that it is... but it actually wasn't too hot and super close (it also doesn't help that parking can be pretty impossible toward the end of the week). So we took a very short stroll over to the shop. What's funny is that Wild About Harry's is usually where my office dines for its wonderful Custard Ice Cream but they do have a lunch menu. They have hot dogs, sandwiches, chicken strips, etc. I would absolutely suggest this fun place as it really does have such great food and great character! Kaylan, I had such a great time! It was so good to hear all about the fun news and changes. Both Ray and I wish you and James such a wonderful new adventure in Arizona and cannot wait to come visit... again I do see multiple ski/camping/hiking trips in our future!!! Good luck and congrats:)

In other news, this Saturday I will be attending my sweet friend, Daniela's, Bridal Shower at Mary Ellen's Tea Room.

For more information on the Tea Room... visit their website here...Believe me more pictures will be posted of the event! Daniela I am so excited and absolutely look forward to such a special time:) See you tomorrow at noon! I'll definitely have my camera in hand:)

This Sunday Ray will be attending a meeting at the Heights Baptist Church in regards to joining a running team that will be completing a marathon at Whiterock on December 5, 2010 for World Vision. All donations will be sent to assist the efforts in Uganda where the church is currently involved. What an amazing opportunity!!! I will definitely keep you posted on the upcoming news and activities!

Well that is all the news for this Friday Funtivities post. I wish you all such a wonderful weekend and look forward to hearing about your weekend activities. Until next post...

Thought-Full Thursday!

On this "Thoughtful Thursday" blog post I thought it would be fun to post our thoughts for the week. Come on ladies we're women! We have the right to change our minds to say what we want to and feel what we want to... Heartache to heartache we stand... ok really those are just random song lyrics. Ha! But I did think it would be fun to put down what's been on our minds this week... and random as it may be, sometimes its great to have a platform to say what we want...

1. I need a hair cut/make over that will make me look older than 12. Anyone know of a good salon that won't break the bank? Please advise!!!!! I am way over due.
2. Is the job market really as bad as it appears? Does anyone have contacts out there in the non profit sector or anywhere in North Dallas for that matter?
3. Will I run a marathon in my lifetime? I've been really considering completing one... now I might walk the entire way and it could potentially take me 24hrs but I would love to do one before we have kids. Anyone want to join? I figure it's three times around Whiterock (well that would put you at 27 miles) I don't think they have a sticker/medal for that.
4. Where will we move? Will we move? What will my job be?
5. Is it bad to have a favorite pair of jeans and want to wear them everyday? How often is too often?
6. Why do I keep getting dating emails for single women or single moms? What is the internet trying to tell me?
7. Why do I have red eyes in all pictures? Is it absolutely necessary for me to touch up every single picture just b/c I kind of look evil?
8. Is there a reason why drivers don't wave anymore? I mean it is only courteous to wave when someone lets you in/over/etc. I remember the first time someone thanked me by slightly tapping their brakes... well either that or they were brake checking me... but still WAVE PPL!
9. I am really loving our little spice garden. I wonder when we get a house will we have a small garden? Will we keep it up? They say there are plants out there that are pretty hard to kill. I killed a baby cactus so anythings possible! Ha!
10. So I lost my heart necklace again. You know the one I wear everyday... the only one I really ever wear... I lost it about a month ago and still cannot find it. This is actually the second one I've lost... maybe I should look into different jewelry. Ha!

Well I guess that's all the randomness I have for right now. Ha. What are some fun Thursday thoughts of yours?

80s Movie Watching Party!

Ok I'll admit it. I absolutely love 80s movies. It is a time of geeky teenagers, unlawful dancing, giving up your underwear, never putting baby in the corner, working women, people who are seeing ghosts, losing that love'n feeling, a kid learning to wax on/wax off, the unforgettable governor saying I'll be back, the random prostitute that can really dance, beetlejuice beetlejuice beetlejuice, and times where kids just wanna have fun!

This weekend as you've probably read, we will be dog sitting and caring for 3 adorable furbabies. So when we are not going for long walks or having puppy play time, Ray and I have decided to make this an 80s movie marathon extravaganza... and I couldn't be more excited! But the true question is... what movies should we chose? It is strange how many 80s movies that my hubby had missed out on while growing up... so I'd love to get your advice.

What 80s movies should we pick?!?! I'm thinking 16 Candles, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, and... see there are just too many to chose. Please help me out here!

Alicia

And That Makes 3: Puppy Sitting!

Tomorrow we will be getting this little cutie (who is not so little anymore) for the weekend. From Thursday to Sunday we'll be watching Bella (Toby's first love) and puppy sitting for our good friends Adam and Stephanie. Toby and Bella first met almost three years ago and hit it off pretty instantly. From long walks to dog parks... they were two of a kind... we always wondered what their puppies would look like (even though that's out of the question since they are both fixed)... but still the thought did cross my mind from time to time. Anyway this weekend should be great fun, lots of play time, more walks, and hopefully 3 very tired puppies! ha!

Mama of 2 furbabies
