One Fish... Two Fish... Red Fish...

This past Fat Tuesday, we met up with many of our good friends at Fish City Grill in Addison. As advertised they had great food and drink specials all accompanied by live music and beads... but I think a few people had the same idea we did... and it was packed! So after we rallied the troops we headed next door to The Blue Fish Japanese Restaurant! Yes my friends... a Sushi Bar!

For those that do not know, this honestly is not my typical style of food. I sadly am in love with the idea of sushi. I think it is so pretty and sophisticated. I've even tried many different options, but still cannot seem to find one that I love. In the end I did find some amazing chicken Teriyaki and had such a great time! Plus I tried a calamari roll!

Even though it was a bit unexpected with our location change, we still had a great time with great friends, great food, and wonderful conversation.

A Man of Many Talents!

This is my husband and he is amazing in so many ways!

This blog has been a way to keep up with friends and family as well as act as a diary/scrapbook for years to come... I thought it would be very important to include fun facts/tidbits about him as well!

Disclaimer: Now I consider many of these to be fact and I'm hoping that they are all still 100% true. One thing I love about my husband is that he is very passionate about trying new things; he really likes variety. He loves meeting and exceeding goals as well as those things that may challenge him. Enjoy his stories:)

1. Ray was born in Birmingham, AL. He has an older brother and two younger sisters.

2. He and I met almost 8 years ago in High school. We met at IHOP after my dance team spring show where he performed with our senior colonel. What caught my attention was how personable, sweet, and of course good looking he was (and still is;) But he was the all around great guy who was very very shy. After meeting it took him 1 week to call me, but from that point on we were pretty much inseparable.

3. In High school Ray was huge into choir and his church youth group.

4. While Ray was a college freshman and I a high school senior, Ray really grew into his own and found his voice. He was no longer an introvert and became the life of the party. And I continued to fall in love with him over and over again! Yes ladies... he had long hair in college!

2003

5. He attended Texas A&M Univeristy... class '06; Major in Technology Management

6. While at A&M he played club soccer (both indoor and outdoor) and Ultimate Frisbee

7. Ray is pretty much a lover of most sports and is extremely athletic. Over the last few years he has completed a marathon, 3 half marathons, 1 triathlon and is about to complete another half marathon in Fort Worth next weekend. His future goal is to do the MS150!

8. Since working for PFS Web he has participated in the Richardson Corporate Challenge. He has competed in:

Dominoes. Flag Football. Dodge Ball. 5K. Punt, Pass, & Kick

9. Ray has always disliked coffee but is now determined to like it and tries it often. Yahoo put out an article that one coffee a day is beneficial and healthy.

10. Ray is very Green! He believes in hypermiling; however, his wife values the A/C in the car and going over 60 mph. Love you honey:)

For those of you confused with the above picture, it was taken during this past year's triathlon... during the cycling section... re-cycle= keep cycling plus hints at his go-green motto!

11. Ray hearts MUSIC! He is very passionate about it. He is currently in the process of joining Vocal Majority- A men's barbershop choir. The picture is from Family Karaoke on New Years 2010!

12. Ray is a good daddy to his furry kiddos! Mattie & Toby love him lots:)

13. Ray's dream in life is to be a chef! He really is an amazing cook! If he could he would open an upscale BBQ restaurant with his dad and bro!
14. Loves Monster Energy Drinks (thus this was one of our gifts at the wedding)
15. He loves sushi and all things fish
16. Ray loves "We are the World" and is upset by the cast of musicians that have been put together to remake it.
17. Would have had a dedication tribute to Michael Jackson during our wedding if his wife would have allowed it.
18. Fav color is green
19. Fav candy is caramel junior mints
20. During the olympics... Ray loves all sports but LOVES his curling! We actually have a tea kettle that is called a "curling tea kettle" and is shaped exactly like the puck or whatever its called:)
21. Ray loves apple... no not the fruit. I mean he thinks its ok but the iPhone apple...
22. Ray is addicted to Words with Friends! For some reason I used to get excited when we or he received texts... lately its all been words with friends! ha:)
23. He loves his video games and wii
24. Ray is known as "the tie or vest guy." He is very fashionable and his wife usually asks for tips:) ha!
25. His favorite movie is Mighty Ducks 2... and sometimes I hear a random Quack Quack Quack!
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY HE LOVES HIS WIFEY AND PUPS!

That's a good start! I will definitely add more updates in days to come!

Twenty Tidbits Tuesday

Randomly while discussing the Olympics it came up that I had previously taken an ice skating class while at A&M. Ray seemed baffled. We've been together nearly 8 years and this was something he hadn't known about me. So it got me thinking... what are other little fun tidbits to tell that people might not be aware of... (if you can't tell I love these types of posts!)

1. Yes I took an ice skating class in college. I actually am not too bad at the sport. I also took step class which I absolutely loved!
2. Obviously by the picture I have a gangsta side:) ha!
3. I am double jointed in both of my thumbs and many of my fingers... so I have never lost a thumb war contest to date!
4. I favor my left side but am right handed
5. I am very long winded but for some reason... after a very very long story I will say, "long story short."
6. I may not know everything about computers but I am a pretty darn good typist
7. I love heels but only wear flats and rarely wear socks
8. I am pretty much allergic to all types of material except for cotton
9. I am completely a morning person but love to snooze (yes still trying to figure that one out)

10. I've been in track (I ran hurdles), choir, and dance team
11. I do believe dancing is a sport... especially if you compete!
12. I am obviously a dog lover... and consider my furry kiddos to be a part of our family.
13. I am "touch sensitive." I am weird about touching certain materials. (it may be in response to #8). I don't like touching chalk, nylon, foam crates, or any type of runner's wicking material. I usually ask Ray to fold those pieces when it comes time for laundry
14. I like routine, consistency, and simplicity.
15. I am adventurous but organized if that's possible!
16. I like ketchup on my mashed potatoes
17. Ketchup is the best condiment in the whole wide world... mainly b/c it is filled with Sugar! Can you tell I have a sweet tooth?!?
18. I have never been skiing or hunting.
19. I have never broken a bone but am pretty sure I gave my self a concussion in a backwards race where I ran straight into a wooden bench in elementary school. In high school, I was kicked by our horse in the knee and this past year rolled my ankles 3 times during our training for the Dallas White Rock 1/2 Marathon.
20. I love camping!

Hope this was fun... what are some interesting facts about you?!?

Alicia

Happy Fat Tuesday!

Happy 3rd Monthary and Love Day!

This past Sunday Ray and I celebrated our third month anniversary and Love Day! I can't believe that we've shared 8 Valentine's days together AND 3 months of marriage. Wow... how time flies! This year we decided that our gift to each other would be to simply enjoy our time together, have a relaxing day at home, and go out for a nice dinner!

What better way to start off your morning.... so I thought I would just "spell out" my feelings for him:)

During the day we of course caught up on some of the Winter Olympics! While I honestly prefer the Summer Olympics, I will say that I am secretly a fan of the ice skating...or ice dancing. To be honest I am a bit confused and am unsure of the difference between the two... but love watching it! What is your favorite Winter Olympic Sport?!?!

Later that night, we went to dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse. Oh it was very tasty and I truly had such a great time!

To my husband,
I am so thankful for you. You truly have inspired me to be a better person and for that I am so grateful. I owe all of my happiness to you! You are my everything and I truly am excited for all that is to come. You are my best friend and I absolutely cannot wait to grow old with you:)

Love,
your wifey!

And to all of those I love, I wish you all the happiest Love Day in the world because truthfully it's a day that should be shared with ALL of those you love and care for! I'm forever grateful for you and wish you all the happiness in the world:)

Love,
Alicia
