Easter Greetings 2010!

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter Holiday!

Love,
The Zellners

Welcome to the Zellner's Easter 2010 in Dallas! Enjoy the details!

This past weekend was absolutely amazing! My brother and his girlfriend, Melissa, came into town for a post birthday visit! This past weekend was filled with fun celebration, a photo shoot outing in McKinney, yummy food, a night on the town at Barcadia, and a wonderful Easter Sunday at the Heights!

Photo Shoot Fun:
Downtown McKinney!

I absolutely loved all of the cute little shops downtown. We stumbled across this super yummy Salsa Shop. You could try everything and literally we almost did. I absolutely loved the amazing Pecan Praline Dip.... of course. I have a super sweet tooth, but they have dips and salsa of all kinds including sweet, sour, hot, and all very yummy!

Yes Ray found a giant pair of plastic scissors. It was hilarious but a great conversation starter!

After our trip around town we kept seeing everyone with bags of popcorn and candy... so we had to stop at Mom and Popcorn Co! I love the name... catchy and clever... but seriously one of the coolest shops I've seen!

Yummy Mexican Food for lunch!

Of course the Jumpy Pictures!

Birthday Bash!
Happy 30th Birthday Chris!

Dinner at Babes!

A night out at Barcadia!

They have giant Jenga AND giant Connect 4!

First round goes to Chris & Melissa...

But the second round goes to the Zellners!
What a way to finish the night:)

After recovering a lost phone (love you Chris) and saying our good-byes, Ray and I headed to Luby's for a yummy Easter lunch! I think a lot of people had the same idea... but we didn't mind the wait. It was soooo worth it! After lunch we headed home, rented Blindside (such an amazing movie) and stayed in bed for the rest of day just relaxing with each other and the pups! This truly was such an amazing Easter! I am so thankful for all the moments we shared this weekend and am looking forward to all those to come!

Friday Funtivities Post: Easter Visitors!

I am getting more and more excited with each minute that passes that my brother will be here for Easter weekend! To be honest this will be the first weekend that my brother has been able to come to Dallas minus the wedding. So really this is a super special occasion. He is bringing Melissa to help us enjoy some post birthday funtivities and good 'ole family hang out time in our neck of the woods. I figure with such a momentous occasion this should definitely be included in my Funday Friday Funtivities post!

I am honestly unsure as to what all we will do but I do have a few ideas... Tonight we'll be staying at home for a fun comfy night in with dinner and a few movies. Tomorrow (weather permitting) we will travel down town to fun Dallas spots for lunch and an activity... Kennedy Museum, Arboretum, a brewery, Greenville for drinks?!?! For dinner I believe we'll hit up Babes with family and friends to celebrate his birthday and hopefully a night on the town at Barcadia or Petes. Not sure which direction we'll take but something fun for our Saturday night out. Sunday they will be joining us at the Heights Baptist Church for Easter Sunday and lunch to follow.

I am so excited for whatever this weekend holds as it will be such a wonderful catch up and birthday celebration time. You can definitely count on many more pictures to follow. Have such a wonderful Easter Holiday as we remember that Jesus should be at the center of our hearts and minds.

Linking Up for Dinner & a Game Night!

This past Thursday, Ray and I had some sweet friends from our ABF come over for dinner and a game night! These are the Links! They are such a super fun couple and we had such a great time. I had forgotten to take a picture (oops) so I used this one from a previous game night. Ray made very yummy Mediterranean sandwiches and sweet potato fries. They were absolutely delicious! After dinner we played a fun game of Phase 10 where Katy came back and won it all! It was definitely a night of yummy dinner, great games, and fun friends. We look forward to the next get together with both Katy and Matt.

Park's Pretty in Pink Party!

This past Wednesday, Ray and I were able to share in a celebration for a sweet friend's birthday! Mrs. Jenna Parks from our ABF turned 23 this past Tuesday! We joined a few more friends (Denise and Chase Gooding) and both Jenna and Trent for a fun-filled night of celebration, Modern Family, yummy food, and games.
Happy Birthday Jenna! (with her super cute pink purse cake from Baskin Robbins!)

Make a wish! The Girls! The Boys! After some very yummy home made pizza, queso, and drinks, we all sat down for a fun game fit for a Newly Wed... the Newly Wed Game! To be honest this was Ray and my first time to play... and boy was it a LOT of FUN! Team Goodings! Team Parks! Team Zellners!

May the Honeymoon last forever! Jenna I wish you a very wonderful birthday and good cheers for all the years to come!

Fill your Tummies with Easter Yummies!

So I am excited to say that my brother and his girlfriend will be coming into town this Easter. I am absolutely so very excited to have family time and to share in such a wonderful holiday! Then it hit me... more Easter baskets!!!!

So I got to thinking about cute ideas and thought you might have some fun thoughts... what fun goodies and treats will you fill your Easter basket up with?

This is what Ray and I have done in the past:
- Easter eggs filled with candy including chocolate, the ever yummy cadberry egg (I prefer the caramel ones), peeps, etc
- Chocolate shape crosses, bunnies, eggs
- Wine
- Strawberries
- Cookies
- Stuffed Animals- Bunnies (Toby always thinks its his new toy)
- Egg Timer (it was too cute!)

Since moving to Dallas, Ray and I have usually shared a special Easter celebration together. We attend Church service at The Heights and then will typically share in some very fun yet random spring activity. Our first Easter we each gave Easter baskets and then went Kite flying in the park. We flew Dora the Explorer and Spiderman Kites. Oh it brought me back to childhood. The day was so great... until it got windy. Needless to say, our kites ended up in their resting spot stuck in a tree for quite awhile after. Last year Ray and I decided to host an egg scavenger hunt just the two of us and then do one for the pups. It definitely did NOT go as we had planned as the dogs were honestly too excited to find the treats... they wanted us to just give them the treats... so they would sit and lay down then jump around... it was quite hilarious but definitely memorable:)

Right after Easter we took a trip to Alabama and had a late Easter bash with my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and sweet little niece, Olivia. We bought her a cute little Easter egg basket, eggs filled with candy, and an Elmo stuffed animal plus cute little Bunny ears to wear. She wasn't too sure about the ears but had a blast with the bright plastic eggs. When she found out there was something in them... she just couldn't resist! I've included a few pictures from last year:)

What fun plans do you have for this year?!?!

Love,
Alicia
