Fun in the McKinney Sun... Weekend Activities

This past weekend was filled with lots of love and laughs, a great deal of pampering, catching up on much needed vitamin-D, celebrating a year and a half of marriage, and spending time with sweet friends celebrating the Link's little matey expected in early June.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend and enjoyed some fun in the May sun!

Here are a few fun pictures from our weekend.

Saturday afternoon I met up with Jes from work at our local salon in McKinney for our hair appointment. Yes it is true... My hair just keeps getting shorter... and I absolutely love it. Meet the Brown and Red Headed Gellner!

Upon my return home, Ray and I quickly decided that the afternoon would be perfect to catch up on some much needed Vitamin-D. It was a perfect Pool Day in McKinney. With our vacation only a few weeks away I knew it was time for this pale lady to get some color.

Today was also special as today the husband and I celebrated a year and a half of marriage together. After our fun in the sun, we then ordered Buca di Beppo to go (as if there were any other place:) and enjoyed a movie night at home with the furbabies.

Sunday afternoon I attended a cute pirate themed baby shower for a sweet friend from church. It was such an adorable shower. I absolutely loved all the cute pirate decor and the most adorable cake ever. Here are a few pictures of the cake, invite, and party favor.

Katy... we wish you such wonderful blessings on your new adventure! What a special day for such a special little man. I am so glad that I could share in such a wonderful occasion.
After returning from the shower, Ray and I decided to enjoy a little more fun in the May sun. What a fun weekend with friends and my amazing husband!

Saturday Hair Do & Starbucks Run!

Every 5-10 weeks my good girl friend from work Jes and I go get our hair done at a Salon in McKinney. We first stop and pick up a Starbucks drink then head over for a fun Salon Saturday. Here is a picture of Jes and I after our latest new do! As a few of my girlfriends say... once you go short you'll never go back... and I totally agree! Thanks Jes for a fun ladies day of beautifcation:)

My New Do, Husband & Wifey Pics, & Girl Talk!

My Saturday was filled with a fun girl's afternoon outting. My sweet friend, Jes and I grabbed some Starbucks drinks and left for our 11:45 hair cut appointment at our Salon in McKinney. I can't believe 5 weeks has past since my first big girl hair cut and it was definitely time for a trim. But as you can see, I decided to take the plunge and go even shorter! What do you think of the new do?!?!

Later I went to Target for some small errand shopping then came back to the apartment to hang out with my two furbabies until the hubs returned home from Frisbee. We have entered his Winter League Season of Frisbee which means each Saturday until March he will play two games... and today he came home victorious! Upon his return we had to take a few husband and wifey pics to celebrate the new do:)

Tonight he and Michael were heading downtown to go see Girl Talk. Let me explain further as I was asked a few times if the boys were going to see a random chick flick. :) In my husband's words... Girl Talk AKA Greg Gillis... is a mixologist who creates mash ups of pop and rap songs from several decades. Here is a picture of the gents before the concert.

Tonight, I am cuddling up on the couch with the pups and enjoying a quiet night at home doing my two favorite things... one being the obvious.... blogging and the other which has become a recent hobby to online home search. I know I am way ahead of schedule, but it's ok just to look right?!?!

A New Do!

Here is a preview of the New Hair Do!
...
This Saturday I enjoyed a fun afternoon with Jess that included a trip to Starbucks and an appointment to a local McKinney hair salon. What a fun afternoon!!! I am so thankful for these fun girly outings and so looking forward to many more. In regards to my hair... I'm absolutely loving it. After 6 months without as little as a trim and probably close to a decade of the same long, straight hair do... it was definitely time for a change... and while typically change is not something I do well... I am very thankful for this one.

Tidbit Tuesday: First Gray Hair

This morning... I woke up and found my first gray hair! And believe me... it wasn't a little one. It was one that had been lurking around for probably what has been a long time... but has only surfaced pretty recently. It is so crazy to imagine how quickly time flies... Not that a gray hair should dictate an exact age or reflect how one should now feel or think... I truly love what this picture suggests. That truthfully every gray hair does tell a story!

As it is said that us woman get gray hair from stress...

if that is true that absolutely cracks me up. Like I've said numerous times.... the demands of life have been a bit busy as of late... but I truly have loved almost every moment of it. But I should probably be honest. While I do honestly love almost all that has been thrown our way... I should be open and say... that I am NOT a fan of change. This is probably so crazy for someone in HR to say. We are taught in our resume writing and interview sessions in college that one of your key assets is that you are adaptable to change. I my friends... am honestly not. I like being comfortable in what I know and love. I love that I give myself plenty of time to accomplish my goals which then allows me the freedom to make any necessary changes on my time not at the last minute. I hate the last minute. With all this shenanigans in the works... I felt that maybe it would be fun to give the readers more updates!
