My Husband's a Champion!

It's that time again for PFS Web to compete in the Richardson Corporate Challenge! Ray has currently competed in both dodge ball and kickball and has taken home a gold and silver respectively. He will also be competing in the 5K and Dominoes challenge over these upcoming weeks. I am so proud of him and look forward to many more competitions in the future! I am one proud wifey!

A Land Filled w/ Joy and a Gold Medal!

This past Wednesday was my first day to teach in Joyland. I could not have been more excited about the opportunity to work with kindergarten through second grade children. This night's lesson was about being servants to God. Our craft included painting the bottom of our children's feets and making footprints on a towel that read...

"I am God's servant"

We discussed how Jesus washed his disciples feet as we did in our lesson. We discussed what it meant to serve others as well as the importance of serving others. You want to talk about a powerful message. It was such a wonderful time. A time to spend teaching children and a time to learn and grow. I am so thankful for this opportunity. I definitely look forward to each and every Wednesday I am able to spend with these new kiddos as I already have such a special place for them in my heart. I am already signed up to work this next Saturday night:)

Tonight Ray participated in the Richardson Corporate Challenge Dodgeball Competition. After I was finished in Joyland, I received a call from the hubs that PFS had made it into the final game to determine who would be playing in the championship match. I quickly hurried to Sportsview where I made it just in time to watch the final two matches. With great skill, PFS quickly advanced to the final round. In the end PFS was victorious and won Gold!

Richardson Corporate Challenge: 5K

This morning Ray participated in a 5k competition for the Richardson Corporate Challenge. PFS placed first in the 5k challege and Ray ran a time of 23.24. This is almost one full minute less than last year. I am so very proud of his accomplishments and look forward to the many more fun competitions to come.

Back to School & Corporate Challenges!

As I have previously mentioned (a few times at least... may be an understatement) I will be going back to school this August to obtain my Alternative Certification. I am merely a few content tests away from receiving my full acceptance letter from the program I am looking to use. But again, this girl will be extremely busy from August 14 to October 16. The only available session is located in Grand Prairie... which means I'll be making a pretty far trek one to two days a week for 10 weeks. Check out this crazy schedule:

It's about that time again... time for the Richardson Corporate Challenge!


Ray will be joining PFS Web and will be participating in a variety of challenges including a 5K, Dodgeball, Dominoes, Kickball, the coach for Punt Pass and Kick, and potentially volleyball that will begin this September through October.

"The Richardson Corporate Challenge is an Olympic style competition involving as many as 22 athletic and non-athletic events held in late August through early October. The event kicks off with an opening ceremony and after plenty of competition ends with a closing ceremony. Companies compete in events ranging from softball to volleyball and billiards to golf. Activities are scheduled during the week after normal business hours and on weekends. Employees, spouses, and Retirees are eligible to participate. The benefits are endless! Funday Friday!

Today officially marks 50 days until the big "I do's!" I absolutely cannot wait and get more and more excited as each day passes. Sometimes I seriously have to remind myself that this is true and while 50 days seems to be a lot... I know it'll be here before we know it.

So today is my Funday Friday blog. I've decided that each week on my "Funday Friday" I will give my weeks funtivities and updates. Plus it just has a nice ring to it!!!

This week was definitely as busy as the last. Each week has absolutely flown by and is filled with daily to dos, meetings, and events. This week was just that.

Monday: September 21: Work as usual. I prepared myself for Tuesday's funtivity of National Ice Cream Cone Day at Checkpast. Monday was supposed to be the day that wedding invitations were out the door, but after Sundays small mishap of "misplacing" the previous purchased stamps we had to shift it all down a day. At lunch I went to Weirs Furniture Store and bought my favorite wedding ring stamps. A furniture store with stamps? Sounds odd I know... but it sure isn't. There is a small country store and post office inside the Weirs off of Knox. I absolutely love this place. I wish I could take the time to look at all of the nick nacks, gifts, and of course furniture but sadly today's visit was just for stamps. Maybe next time. But anywho... stamps were bought and that night Ray and I finished the invites which would be sent out Tuesday.

Tuesday: September 22: National Ice Cream Cone Day!
Today marked the national holiday for ice cream cones. What kind of HR Director would I be if I had not participated in such a momentous occasion. Employees brought their ice cream: flavor of choice, cones, and toppings

Tuesday Night I met up with Kristin for an event that will be described at a later date. It is currently a surprise and I do not want to ruin it. While we "crafted" we ate pizza and of course watched the Biggest Loser! That doesn't exactly sound like the two would go together... but oh it was amazing and again all about portion control!

Wednesday: September 23: Ray and I had lunch at Freebirds! Yum! Oh how I miss the easy access of this amazing burrito place in College Station. All restaurants seemed closer there! Ok now I'm thinking of the bread sticks from Fazolis... I must cut that conversation short...
Wednesday night, Ray and I had a visitor! Owen, Ray's dad, came in from Sugar Land for a quick visit. We went to dinner at Buca di Beppo and had such amazing food. Read previous blog for details: Tasting and Tours!

Thursday: September 24: Ray and I had an official date night. With all the wedding planning and busy schedules, it's been hard to sit down and find time together. I love spending time with my fiance! *Also... he got to officially pick up his wedding ring! It's all too exciting:)

We also received a few gifts from family that were unable to attend our shower. Thank you to Nana and Sally! We absolutely loved them and can't wait to officially use our new wedding gifts!

Here is a picture of Ray and I hinting at the "don't break a ribbon/bow" tradition b/c that is the number of babies you are supposed to have. Mainly I've received beautiful bows... I'm sure in the end I'll break just a few;)

Friday: September 25: Today is a relaxing day at work. I'm finishing up a few things. Tonight Ray will be participating in Flag Football for the Richardson Corporate Challenge through work. He is QB. He will play Friday and Saturday. I'll keep you posted on how it goes! I know he's super excited.

Sunday: September 27: Ray, Michael, and Dustin will be participating in a Triathlon in McKinney. Both Ray and Michael will be doing the Sprint and Dustin will participate in an Olympic Triathlon. I am so proud of the boys! I know they've been working for this all year. GOOD LUCK GUYS!

Wednesday, August 26, 2009 marks the beginning of Ray's first of many events within the Richardson Corporate Challenge.

You may be asking... "What is the Richardson Corporate Challenge?" And here is the answer.

The Richardson Corporate Challenge is an Olympic style competition involving as many as 22 athletic and non-athletic events held in late August through early October. The event kicks off with an opening ceremony and after plenty of competition ends with a closing ceremony. Companies compete in events ranging from softball to volleyball and billiards to golf. Employees, spouses, and Retirees are eligible to participate. All donations are raised and provided to the Special Olympics. The benefits are endless!

Congratulations to all of the companies who participated in 2008 and raised $120,000 for Special Olympics.

Tonight Ray will be coaching and participating in the Punt Pass and Kick event. He will also be participating in a variety of other events from now until October including Flag Football, Dominoes, Dodgeball, 5K Race, and more.
