It amazes me that only one more month stands between my little baby and her first birthday. How can this possibly have happened so quickly dear girl? I have loved watching you grow this month. From new words, new abilities, lots of laughs, some tears, but so much more importantly, so much love! Happy 11 months my sweet baby girl.
Date: 9/7/2014
Age: Eleven Months
Measurements: During our last sick visit this month, you measured at 19 lbs 7 oz.
Clothing: You can still wear a few 9 month pieces, but are quickly moving into 12 month clothing. You are getting so good about helping take off and put on your clothes. You are more still these days when we try to change you.
Eating: This is our final month with formula!!! Daddy and I want to throw a little party with the money we will be saving from purchasing cows milk vs. Similac. But in regards to food, you are such a big girl when it comes to eating. You eat all big girl food. This month we had a lot of sickness in our house. This month you've become more and more picky with food, but you'll try almost anything. You absolutely LOVE carrots and peas. Other foods you eat include kids meals at restaurants, pasta, turkey dogs, pizza, macaroni and cheese, turkey sandwiches, all fruit, veggies, eggs, bacon, yogurt, and even some sweets this month like mommy's birthday cake and ice cream. You are taking 4 bottles a day, drinking from your sippy cup with a straw, and love drinking water from mommy's Sonic cups. You think you are so big!

Sleeping: This month you let us know when you are ready for bed. You even tell us you want to go nigh-night. It is the most precious thing. When you start to get fussy before bedtime, I'll ask you if you want a ba-ba. If you are ready, you'll repeat it and put your head down on my shoulder. At daycare, moving into the big room means that you have transitioned into one nap. This has made things a bit difficult with your eating schedule and has made you change your summer sleep schedule from 8PM to 6:30PM. It makes mommy and daddy's heart sad that you go to bed so early these days as we would love more play time with you but understand that your body needs to rest. On weekends, you will typically take two three hour naps... probably making up for the lack of sleep during the week. This month you have also been sick for several weeks from a tummy virus and teething. This has messed with both your sleep and eating schedule. But I am so thankful that in normal circumstances, you are a champ sleeper.
New Activities and Random Tidbits:
- You are officially a full-time walker.
- You transitioned to the next room which is for walkers and one year olds.
- You are understanding more words and commands.
- New words: ba-ba (bottle); wa-wa (water/sippy cup); dah (dog); nigh-nigh; aba! (we are still unsure what this is but it may be some version of up... you are so happy when you say it, usually yell, and put your arms up in the arm and jump); and the usual mama, dada, bubba.
- Will pick up anything and pretend its a phone and sometimes your babble sounds like hello.
- You wave hello and good-bye.
- When you say nigh-nigh, you will put your head down and act like you are going to sleep.
- Your favorite songs are If You're Happy and You Know It and Pat-a-cake.
- You are learning to share. You still have a lot of work to do.
- You like to "feed" mommy and daddy.
- Today you attempted to put chapstick on me. (lid closed of course)
- You took Dolly Dolphin home for the weekend. (It's your daycare doll and Dophins room mascot)
Auby & Dolly Play Time
- Crawl upstairs independently.
- You are a lover of music and love to shake your booty.
- Wear shoes everyday.
- You love carrying around your shoes after we take them off at night.
- You are drinking your bottle in your bouncer... attempting more independence.
- Help take off and put on shirts.
- You love to play with the velcrow on your shoes.
- You love to be held upside down, spin around, and fly in the air.
- We are attempting to teach you to be gentle with Mattie as you still will occasionally pull her hair.
- You love to feed Mattie during meal time. You smile when mommy and daddy tell you not to.
- We have found your little mischievous side. At least it's cute for now;)
- You love to hold loveys and stuffed animals. Bama the giraffe is your favorite.
- While you weren't in love with your first splash pad experience, you did love the small one at Klyde Warren Park down town.
- You can raise your right eye brow. The left is questionable. This is such a Zellner behavior.
- We still love our babytv this month. Your favorite seems to be Oliver the monkey and any musical number.
- You helped mommy celebrate her 30th birthday and enjoyed your first Toga Party with full themed dress.
- We have loved doing lots of fun baby play dates. Your Fantlet twins love to say Au-bee and point at you. You give them and their big brother, Bryson, the biggest smiles.
- You currently have 3 teeth on bottom (a fourth has been slow at popping through), and one on top is currently coming through.
Likes: Bama the giraffe, walking, holding shoes, saying abba, dancing, crawling upstairs, toys in your mouth, babbling, baby play dates, drinking water from mommy's cup and straw, "talking" on the phone, looking at yourself on daddy's ipad, water pad at Klyde Warren Park, eating big girl food, mirrors
Dislikes: being told no (you still smile), having things taken away from you, being sick, ear infections, teething, sitting still, diaper and changing clothes, waiting for food especially a bottle, being held when you want to be put down, nap time when you aren't ready, car carriers- it's still hot in this summer heat, taking away our keys, Nose-Frieda or anything to do with your nose.
Watch Auby grow!!!

We are getting so big! I love the Toga Girls!!
