Trick-or-Treat!

Happy Halloween Blogger Friends!
This Halloween was a lot of fun! While we didn't have elaborate costumes or extravagant decorations, the husband and I had a fun time staying at home and passing out candy to trick-or-treaters. This was our first year in our house and first opportunity to do "the adult thing" and pass out candy to spooky ghosts and goblins. Before dinner, we had masked our yard in fresh graves line, spider webs, lights, and a bit of crate paper. But I think it came out great. This year, I think variations of Spiderman and Captain America were the biggest hit; however, I loved the sweet garden gnome, baby Elmo, and starwars characters. They were my favorite. Especially the little ones that could barely hold their candy buckets. But boy did they try. Ray and I decided with two very loud and confused pups, it might be a better idea to sit outside on the porch. It was a perfect night for tricks and treats. I think we did pretty well with candy this year, but sadly ended up with a lot of twislers at the end. We didn't want to be "that house" as Ray called it... you know the one that gives the bad candy. But hey I liked our options and we ended up passing out candy from 6:30-8:30. Not too shabby. We ended our night with American Horror Story. It was a fun night in. A truly great Halloween!

I'm going to leave you with this one last tidbit. Here is a fun Skeleton Dance song that my kiddos LOVE!

  1. Our first Halloween in our house was so fun too. Sadly this year we had to close up shop kinda early because Pearson go to bed at 7:30 and the doorbell would have kept waking him up. We did get to hand out candy to a handful of kids though!!

  2. Yes we sure did have fun... but I would have to say having a kiddo to share with it would be icing on the cake:) I LOVE Pearson's Halloween pictures. I showed Ray and he thought they were so perfect, especially the ones on the golf cart. Such a perfect idea! I totally understand about closing shop early. One main reason we stayed outside is so we didn't have to have two barking dogs to race across each time the doorbell rang. lol Sounds like a great Halloween girl!

  3. We had fun last year with our new house too. We didn't have as many trick or treaters as excepted though, so we had lots of left over candy. I agree with being 'that house'! We made sure we had good candy!
