Liam Turns ONE

On March 24th at 2:05 we welcomed the most handsome little guy into our lives. 365 days later we celebrated his ONEderful first year. Our little Liam Turned ONE!

Because everyone loves a good comparison photo of their children.
Happy Birthday to our sweetest of Boys! We love you Liam!

........................................

Little man's special day was held on a Friday. Daddy was off work so it allowed for a fun family day with our Liam love. Of course our day was also met with a bit of rain and some pre party planning, but what a special day it was celebrating our littlest of loves.

We began our morning in true celebration. Liam slept through the night. That is always a reason to celebrate in our house. Following in birthday tradition, fun presents are set up the morning of so that it is a fun surprise coming downstairs. This year we found this blowup pool gator that we decided would be a fun little play yard until the weather permits. Liam loved his new little ball pit and had a ball!

After some morning play and getting our things ready, we went to IHop for a smiley face (or not so smiley face) pancake.

The food was delicious, the rain was plentiful, and as we called for the check we were almost in full no morning nap melt down. So it was time to head out. After our morning nap, and a bit of lunch, we made our way out for Liam's first hair cut.

While Liam took his second nap, mommy made his smash cake for his party. I think overall it turned out pretty smash-ingly .It will absolutely do!
After dinner, we celebrated with a sweet birthday treat as a way to "practice" Liam's cake eating abilities. Let's just say, my kid loves cake!
Happiest of Birthdays my sweet little ONE!

Always Be my Baby & our ONEderful New Adventures!

To my handsome little Liam, my most precious and littlest snuggle bug. You and your sister are our most precious gifts and both reminders of God's grace and the true miracle of life. You are God made perfect and help make my heart whole. I never knew the amount of love my heart could hold, how it continues to expand. You have taught me love beyond understanding, you have grown me, challenged me, and love me. You call me ma-ma.

I love you for all that you are and all that you will be. From the moment I knew you would join our family to the months spent listening to my heart beat and hearing yours, to the moment I held your sweet body, I have loved you. You are all boy, my rough and tumble, my loud little Liam, the happiest little boy with the best little giggles. You are oh so adored.

Today is my final day with my 11 month old. I blinked. Tomorrow you turn ONE.

From the day you were born you never wanted to be put down. So serious. So snuggly. So perfect. Loving you has always been easy. But your sweet beginning was anything but. Your poor first months were so hard on you sweet boy. Colic, endless nights, upset tummy, reflux, latch issues. Days were long. But now as you approach your first birthday so many of those challenging moments are a thing of the past. You are perfect. God grew our family. We are so incredibly thankful He chose us to be your parents. I know you will do great things. My prayer for you is that you walk with him all your days and know you have a God and He is greater than all. May you be the spiritual leader for each relationship you make. May you live each day fully, love harder, pray daily, love those around you, and be the light for your heavenly father. May you make mistakes and grow from them. May you grow in character, in love, in determination. Failure is a part of growing. You aren't living if you aren't failing daily. May you learn to fly!

So as we are on the eve of your time as a babe and growing up before my eyes, I pray for countless adventures. May they be ONEderful! So here is to our first 364 days of life... of precious moments in time. While some challenged us, grew us, loved on us, made us ugly cry, they all gave us this incredible life. This imperfectly, perfect amazing life.

Cue the ugy crying! I adore you sweet boy!

Spring Has Sprung and Final Days before Liam is ONE!

Spring has sprung in the North Dallas area and we are soaking up the sun rays, enjoying our beautiful days outside, and loving our time together.

We have definitely shared a very mild winter this season and are enjoying many lazy days of sun rays as Spring has sprung and summer is quickly approaching. Days of sunshine, pools and splash pads, wagon rides, and outdoor play days at the park are right around the corner.

As spring is in bloom, so are my two little sunshines. My oh my how time as quickly gone by. Last summer filled with new adventures in parenting two little ones and my new career path as stay at home mommy had begun.
But now my littles are not so little.
As we speak my littlest munchkin is merely days away from his first birthday. Imagining my little man is turning ONE makes my heart leap from my chest with excitement as well as want to ugly cry and immediately snuggle his not so little body all over again. My I am definitely filled with excitement. Excitement for our new adventures and heart melts for the past memories made. Our year together sure has been ONEderful and I'm so excited to see what his next will bring us.
And this big girl beauty has taken on the role of big sister in such a wonderful way.

Every new day is definitely a new adventure, but learning to live life smelling the roses. Loving these little faces and thanking God for opportunities to enjoy His miraculous beauty.

Furry Friends at Fossil Rim & Digging Dinosaurs at Dinosaur Valley

This March, the kiddos and I enjoyed a fantastic adventure with our Fant friends to Fossil Rim and even dug for dinosaurs in Dinosaur Valley. Our morning may have began before the sun, but with a delicious Chick-fil-a breakfast in our bellies, we were on the road and so excited to visit many of our favorite furry friends.

Our first stop was to see the Bison. Bryson was adorable and asked if he too was named after his new furry friend. Aubrey just kept calling it a yak.
 {I had to take a picture with my little man.}

This 9 mile stretch of beauty was amazing! Filled with countless creatures that were so friendly many wanted to join us on our journey. It may have been the bags of food pieces that we were throwing from the car... but many even popped their heads in to greet us.

It was a perfect and gorgeous day filled with lots of furry friend sightings, a new giraffe baby only a few days old, and lots of excitement on our adventure with friends.

After lunch, we made our way over to Dinosaur Valley

The park was amazing! It was filled with countless hiking, walking, biking, and even canoeing paths. But our favorite was the river with fossil footprints. Of course this mama who is always anxious around water, had a little help walking the babes across the path but once arrived to the other side, loved every moment of it. The kids loved to explore.

Is it sad I kept making The Good Dinosaur references?
Love these little explorers.
