Our Dinosaur Fan???

Our Saturday afternoon trip to the Dallas Zoo led us to see the Giants of the Jurassic. While Ray and I both thought it was pretty neat, our Auby was not a fan of the giant, noise making, and water spitting, animatronic dinosaurs. She did seem to really enjoy the train around picnic park.

We surely loved our fun Saturday trip to the zoo. While the weather was predicted to be rather chilly, it was a perfect afternoon of family fun in the sun teaching Auby about fun animals.

Zellner Zoo!

Our little family of three enjoyed a fun trip to the Zoo this Saturday in celebration of Auby's 1st birthday. Our little girl loves her some animals. We knew this would be the perfect fall family outing this weekend.
We couldn't have asked for better weather. I mean really the night before was a complete down pour and most of the morning I had my fingers crossed that the gray clouds wouldn't just open up and unleash a torrential down pour. But the rain held out. The previous storm brought cooler weather and the rain kept most of the park unoccupied. This made our little family feel like (for the most part) it was all ours;)

Once we arrived, we saw these adorable animal cut outs. Of course we had to take a family picture by the giraffe. A very sweet couple took our picture. I love that they included the crocodile in the background.
As we made our way around the zoo, we saw the macaws. I loved how they mimicked our hellos. Auby looked deep in thought. She seemed a bit unsure but definitely would look at each bird then back at us.
 The Lemur Lookout
How did the penguins measure up you may ask? We really enjoyed watching them dive into the pool.

 Pink Flamingos
From cheetahs, gorillas, zebras, and of course the elephants, we loved seeing all of our zoo friends. But what would a Zellner Zoo trip be without taking these adorable baby pictures.

Hands down our favorite moment of our Zellner Zoo trip was feeding the giraffes. As Auby's favorite animal, it was so fun to see her with one. She actually did so good "feeding" the giraffe. She let me put the food in her hand and hold it up to the giraffe's mouth. She quickly would pull away, but each time went right back to feeding it. I am so thankful that daddy caught this on camera.

What a fun Zellner Zoo trip in celebration of the babe. So excited to share this special moment with my family of three!

Summer Zoo Fun!

What a fun day at the Dallas Zoo! Today Auby and I tagged along with our sweet Fantlet friends, Kristin's sister, Jenn, and Jenn's little lady at the zoo. While the weather forecast had previously predicted rain, it was absolutely bright and beautiful. It may have ended up on the hotter side, but it was still a fun outing with friends, and not crowded at all.

Once, we arrived (thanks again K for driving), and after a bit of traffic, we had arrived. Parking was a cinch when you arrive early.  So with baby hat (a little on the big side), Georgie the G-raff attached by rings to the stroller and all "essentials," we were ready to hit the ground running. We saw lots of animals including lions, leopards, giraffes, and even some slithering snakes and poisonous but adorable dart frogs. Bryson was very sweet to make sure that the crocodile didn't scare Aubrey too much. Oh how I love this bunch of kiddos.

After long walks, lots of animals, and a delicious picnic lunch inside the cool restaurant air, we decided to make a stop by the carousal for Bryson before our exit home. He was such a big boy. He was so excited to ride. I mean seriously... aren't these babes just adorable.

Thanks again to our sweet friends for the invite. We had a blast stroll'n with you at the zoo. We look forward to our next little outing together.

Fort Worth Free Day Funday at the Zoo!

In celebration of Labor Day and my upcoming birthday, Ray and I decided to make a trip for a Fort Worth Free Day Funday! We began our morning at a local donut shop and quickly made our way out of town hooked on sweets, sugar, and lots of excitement. It wasn't until we hit downtown that we officially decided to go to the Fort Worth Zoo, but I am so glad we did. When we first moved to Dallas almost 6 years ago, a trip to the zoo was on our list. We had been told by everyone that the Fort Worth Zoo was way better... and boy were they right! We had an absolute blast enjoying all the animals and their habitats, the cute little town, snow cone refreshments, and an excursion on the Yellow Rose Express train (a super short ride). What a super special Labor Day funday with the husband.
