First Mommy's Day & Aggieland Visit

My first official Mommy's Day was super fun and will always hold a very special place in my heart. The day before, we had decided that we would meet Oma and Opa in College Station for Mother's Day lunch. That morning, baby girl woke early and was ready for an early morning play time. It didn't bother this mama at all. I was so ready to spend my special day with my loves.

The Friday before Mother's Day, I received this sweet hand made card from Auby at daycare. I seriously had a few tears. I am so happy for this adorable little memory and so thankful to be this little girl's mommy.

As we made our 3.5 hour trip, we got the call that my dad sadly would not be joining us, but would still be able to meet my mom at Sodalax in Snook. Aubrey slept the entire way there (the way back was a very different story;). It was a great morning to catch up with the husband. I decided to change baby girl before we made our way inside, and sadly she had an extra not so special blow out in her car seat. After a semi quick change, we grabbed some goodies for Oma and made our way inside.

It absolutely melted my heart to see my baby girl and Mama together. It was such a special lunch and I am so thankful that we could share this special day all together. My fingers are still crossed for my mom and dad moving to Dallas within the next few years.

After our lunch, great conversation, and cuddle time with the babe, my mom returned home and we made our way to Aggieland. We of course had to stop by Aggieland Outfitters for some new clothes. We bought this adorable dress in 6-9 months as well as shirts for mama and daddy. They even gave away free Aggie flip flops to mama's for Mother's Day. I was beyond excited as I had not purchased a pair the four years I attended school there. We of course made our way to Northside and then to the century tree for family photos. Enjoy some extra special pictures of my beautiful family of three. 

I loved this sweet dress on her. You may not be able to notice, but there is a small A&M logo on her left side of the dress in white. Her bow was actually a gift from my parent's doctor. I loved the way all the feathers blew in the wind. It may or may not have stuck to her face just a few times (mommy fail), but was too cute for words and such a sweet gesture.

This picture is my absolute favorite. No she's not walking but pulling up. I just can't wait to continue these adorable pictures and to watch this little baby turn into our little lady. Her daddy is so proud!

I am so thankful for these two loves and celebrating an extra special Mother's Day lunch with Oma. I couldn't have asked for a better first official Mommy's Day in Aggieland.

A Pre Birthday Visit to Aggieland!

For months, we have had a family visit to College Station planned as my brother, Chris, will be turning 33 this Easter. While our start was a little later than planned, we met my mother and brother  at Sodalaks in Snook, TX. Known for their super large and absolutely delicious portions the food was great and the company was even better. As College Station is not exactly half way between Dallas and Sugar Land, it is definitely a perfect place to meet up with our family on beautiful days such as this. We were actually dreading the weather as it was supposed to be a complete down pour, but the skies opened up to this gorgeous day. It allowed us to enjoy a fabulous pre birthday lunch, trip around Aggieland, and fun catch up day.

Our first stop was a photo opt by the over-sized Aggie Ring. I thought it was a pretty great start to our afternoon.

From the remodeled MSC, Century Tree, Northside campus, and even a lucky penny on Sull Ross's feet, our afternoon was a great time with family and a super fun pre birthday celebration!

What a great start to Spring Break. I am excited for perfect Sundays with family, for pre birthday celebrations, and a week of pure relaxation!

ABF in Aggieland!

Saturday morning with donuts and snacks in hand, we traveled with two fabulous Aggie couples from our ABF for a day trip to sweet home College Station. The ladies took one car while the gents another. After 3 1/2 hours of fun conversation, hang out, and photo fun, we had officially arrived.

For lunch we dinned at Blue Baker, one of my college favorites. I do love a good soup and bread bowl. After lunch, we made our way around northside and quickly to the MSC (Memorial Student Center). Before our stop for a few pieces of Aggie merchandise, we had to take a few photos under the Century Tree. It's tradition!

The MSC is gorgeous. Ray and I had the opportunity to see it several months ago, but I love seeing all the new pieces that we missed. It is amazing to see the updates, but love the old Aggie feel.

 



After our trip on campus, a new A&M shirt purchase, a few ladies photo ops, and a little shopping excursion...



...we ventured to Reed Arena to watch our Aggie Basketball team take on the Tennessee Volunteers.

 

After 4 OTs, our Ags ran out of time. But what a fun game for sure. Thank you to the Goodings and Hanks for creating more Aggie traditions and a great day trip to Aggieland.

After the game, it was time for us to say our good-byes and return home, as Ray had his marathon early the next morning in Fort Worth. It was definitely a day of tradition, friendship, and fun. I look forward to our next daytrip to Aggieland.

 

Aggie Maroon, Family Visit, Messina Hof Tour, and Mr. Wine Maker Himself!

This past Saturday, Ray and I traveled south to meet up with our Zellner family for a fun day trip in sweet home College Station.

We met his family at The Chicken Oil Company for lunch in Bryan, TX.

This beautiful girl is Becky, Ray's youngest sister.

I so love this girl and am so thankful she drove all the way out to see us:)

After lunch, we left for a campus tour. We found ourselves back on Northside again. We passed our old dorms, eateries, ponds, some lucky feet, and one pretty amazing tree. Here are a few pictures of our visit.

After visiting Northside, the family continued our journey to check on the status of the MSC or Memorial Student Center. It is said to be finished in 2012. A lot of work has been completed. It was amazing to see all the changes being made.

We then made our way to G. Rollie White to where the book store had been moved. There we found great A&M gear and of course had to have a family photo session.

At 2:30 we took a tasting and tour of Messina Hof Winery. Both Ray and I have been a few times, but each time has been different and more fabulous. We thought this would be a wonderful experience for the family. Here are some pictures of our tour.

After our tasting and tour we actually met Mr. Paul Bonarrigo... the wine maker himself. (It was an absolute chance and surprise meeting!) He wears this red signature beret.... a family tradition. He was such a sweet man who gave us several personalized signatures and photos.

Upon leaving College Station as it was time to return home, the husband and I traveled to one of our favorite College Station eateries... Fazoli's. This has become our tradition each time we go now. We ordered some of the most amazing breadsticks to go. They were absolutely delicious!!!!

It was definitely the best ending to an absolutely great daycation in College Station with family! Here is to making great memories with amazing people. Cheers to our next visit....:)
