Candy Cane Cutie

Our Christmas activities have been so fun this year especially with our candy cane cutie!
Tonight we gathered in holiday fun to decorate our house with some good Christmas cheer. With Christmas tunes ringing, lights strung around the tree, babe in Christmas jammies, homemade graham cracker house, hot chocolates with mallows in hand, we were ready to begin our night of festive fun.

Fifth Anniversary, Fort Worth Fun, & Auby's 1st Fantlet Sleepover

For our fifth anniversary, Ray and I spent a wonderful night away in Fort Worth. Our celebration included a 58 foot spruce Christmas tree, festive décor and a sneak peak of the big guy in red, a walk down historic downtown, and a delicious dinner at Taco Diner with drinks.

{Our beautiful balcony view}

{Walk around town and a little window shopping}
{Breakfast at Vidalias}
I am so thankful for my best friend. He is truly an amazing husband and daddy. I am so lucky to get to share this life with him, through the ups, downs, and all the crazy adventures in between. I am so thankful for this sweet little get-a-way... that he planned as it came at a perfect time.

And while the parents were away, the babes did play. Our Anniversary night in Fort Worth was our first night away from our sweet girl as well as Auby's first (of many) Fantlet sleepover. Thank you to our Fant friends for loving and caring for our dear girl. She now will color (mark on paper) for longer than 10 seconds, loves being outside, and can say her name. We need to leave more often. I absolutely am so thankful for these little friendships and all they fun they will have growing up together.

 And mommy only shed a few tears in the car. What a wonderful marriage celebration. We have loved for 13 years, married for 5, and parents for 1. I can't wait to see what next year will hold.

Auby Month-iversary Series: 14 Months

Dear Auby,
You are officially 14 months sweet daughter of mine. I cannot get enough of you. From your laughs, your hugs, your new little words, the light in your eyes, and all that you do, my heart is full. With that being said, we've seen that little 14 month old personality shine. Our sweet, little, happy girl as well as our tear-filled tantrum tot laying out on the floor. You have surely shown us all sides this month. But you are a keeper for sure;) So with all the enjoyment and excitement of the Christmas season, my prayer is that you will know Him. That through our actions, we will continue to show you that Jesus is the true reason for the season.

Date: 12/7/2014
Age: Fourteen Months
Measurements: Weight: 22.2 lbs
Clothing: You are still in size 12 and 12-18 month clothing. I love seeing you in winter wear. We bought you a puffy jacket with fur around the collar that is just beyond words adorable. You are still in size 3 shoes but they are becoming quite tight. You love taking off your shoes and playing with the velcrow. At night you wear fleece onesies and sleep with socks. You love trying to help put on/take off your clothes. As I update this, we have officially moved you to size 4 due toe nail issues.
Eating:  You really will eat anything depending on the day of course. I love this month that you are exploring new foods. From broccoli, cucumber, marsh mellows (mellow mellows), asparagus, cantaloupe... and pretty much anything we eat. You are a champ.  While you are still not drinking milk from a cup yet, you have had a few successful attempts. You'll take a bit, but then soon realize and push it away. You also love to turn your water cup upside down and let it pour out. You also love feeding Mimi. It is so fun to know that your first official chore is to feed the dog (with actual dog food). It is We are definitely working on holding a spoon, fork, and eating from a plate. It is a work in progress for sure. The main focus is for you to keep food on your tray and not to be fed to Mattie. Again another work in progress:) In regards to milk, you still drink about 20 oz. My favorite is when we had a full conversation that consisted of Mama and ba-ba.... then repeat.
Sleeping: This is a month of flu season, coughs, upper respiratory, congestion, and fussiness. All gross illnesses that lead to horrible sleep. While we haven't really seen any of these issues (thank goodness), I'm knocking on wood that it stays away. You are still pretty active when you sleep. You've started coughing lately which breaks my heart as you moan after. As the nights get colder, the heat continues to get turned higher. You sleep so much better when it's warm. You sleep each night with the humidifier, as a sound machine and night light. You've been sleeping through the night pretty well minus a few coughs and rolls from tummy to back with hands positioned behind your head. You are now sleeping with a pillow but don't always choose to sleep on it.

New Activities and Random Tidbits:
- developing and mimicking new words/sounds including tee (tree or three depending on use), hug, oo (shoe), dis (this), ey-ees (eyes), nose, ready, sit, ot (outside), boo (book), ba (bath), do (down) and animal sounds including dog, cat, owl, duck, monkey, snake, lion, giraffe, elephant
- makes signs (your way) for food, more, all done, and signs for songs
- you wore your first pony

- takes shoes off as you love to play with velcrow
- can point to eyes, nose, and mouth
- Oma made your first official stocking
- You helped to make our family's first homemade graham cracker "gingerbread" house

- loves to brush teeth
- gives big smiles (usually says da-da) when we pick you up from daycare
- you are RUNNING! It has been my greatest weight loss program chasing after you sweet girl.
- you love to play outside; you say ot, ot, ot each time we go near a door.
- loves to ride princess car and be pushed down and back across the living room
- gives sweet hugs to Mimi (even if she doesn't want it). You are all about Mattie
- took family photos for our Christmas picture
- you love baths and will say bah bah
- you will give hugs, kisses, and high fives on command
- you will point out babies and love to look at them
- enjoyed your first sleepover with your Fantlet friends while mommy and daddy celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary
- We have experienced lots of little tantrums this month little one. You've definitely let that little personality shine. At least you look cute while doing it. But as quickly as they may come they quickly go and back to our little lover you are.
Likes: baths, bottles, books, hugs, silly faces, being upside down, stuffed animals, playing with your kitchen, ball pit, babies, carrying around a purse or bag, going "shopping" for toys, "reorganizing" the game room (pulling everything from the shelves), making animal sounds (We love the Eric Carle Animal Babies book), playing in your high chair and straps, pearls, musical toys

Dislikes: being in your car carrier, long drives, bows, being told no, not getting what you want, cold wipes and being changed, and wipes your nose

Happy 14 months Auby Baby!
Watch baby grow!
