After taste testing all of our great creations, we were able to select one salty and one sweet food. While all the food was really good, the salty choice was fried avacados and homemade dip. The dip was a mix of salsa and cream cheese. YUM! The sweet option came down to a tie between fried strawberry cake pops and fried peanut butter cups. A ring toss duel between the men went into effect. When the score was still tied, it went down to paper, rock, scissors. Tim Hare and his fried peanut butter cups were victorious.

Tim and Ray battle it out in a ring toss.

Part of our night involved pinterest inspired photo booth fun. Here are our guests at our fried food cook off.

Sunday

... The first weekend it officially felt like Fall.
... I wore my winter boots 2 days in a row!
... I am kind of in love with my burgundy scarf from Target. It is my favorite:)
... Ray and I awoke at 6:30AM for an 8:00 meeting with our ENGAGE directors for breakfast at church.
... It was our turn to bring breakfast to our ABF.
... I think this was the first weekend we were early to ABF.
... Due to a fabulous Fried Food Cook Off and and a few extra hours at the office, Ray took a 4 hour nap that afternoon.
... I enjoyed an hour of blogging.
... I updated my lesson plans.
... We were dogless for the weekend. We sure missed our furbabes but did enjoy some extra cuddle time without our hairballs.
... The husband and I enjoyed our weekly Skype date with my mama.
... We made soup to stay warm.
... We turned off the a/c for the past two days. I love saving money on our electric bill.
... I gave the extra balloons from our Fried Food Cook Off to our neighbors' kids. It's definitely about little excitements.
... Man look at those bags under my eyes. I am for sure carrying some extra luggage;) lol
... Ray will soon be sporting glasses.:)
... We watched a new episode of Dexter.
... I went to bed at a good hour so I could rise early in the morning.

Happy Sunday Friends:)

29 Candles and Karaoke!

Our Duckee Duke turned 29 this past Wednesday. In honor of these 29 candles, we met up with friends at Sherlocks in Addison to celebrate. After a few rounds of great conversation and catch up, it was casually mentioned that we should head over to Family Karaoke. I love Family Karaoke. It is one of our group's favorite places. I mean really. What can be better than having your own room to sing and dance the night away. And if it's someones birthday they include balloons free of charge and a friendly photo opt. So moments after the suggestion, I was on it. The room was booked and we were in route and ready to party.  I think facebook said it best about our night...

"Celebrating my girl Duckee! Family Karaoke it is!!! Bring on Toto, Journey, and Sister Hazel. Sending love to our birthday girl and to our friends that are just like family."

It was a time of great celebration. So much in fact, when we looked at the time it was past 1:30AM and I couldn't believe how late we had made it. Enjoy some pictures of the celebration!
