Kendall Visits "The Dallas": Day FOUR & FIVE

 For lunch we enjoyed In and Out as we began our travels north to Oklahoma.

 

Today we enjoyed being in two places at once. Today we traveled to Oklahoma to celebrate Kendall's travel to her 10th state and to take her to the World's largest 1 story Casino and Resort, Winstar.

 Ray and Kendall went in to try their hands at the slots. They took in $17 and left with $.37.

 On our way out of Oklahoma, we stopped by the Cloverleaf. It was a super cute little shop with lots fun little buys. Plus they had these adorable bicycles and since Liam's room is decorated with bikes, I can't wait to make this little photo into a cute print for his room.

Day Five we said our sad good-byes to Kendall. It was so very special to steal her away for a few days and to spend special one on one time with her. It was a fun week of firsts, of showing her "the Dallas" and enjoying family and cousin time together. Kendall we love you girl and I'll leave you with this last thought and reminder from the kiddos.

We surely loved watching our Liam fishy faces and peek-a-boos. We will always remember what state we are in and if we are unsure, we know who will ask a lot of times. This week we learned that Aubrey has jokes especially when they are from Zootopia.

Kendall Visits "The Dallas": Day THREE

Friday was our day of travels and probably my most favorite day out of the visit. I was so excited Ray would be staying home with us and enjoying this special day of donuts, Klyde Warren Park food truck and splash fun, and a special trip to the Magnolia Silos in Waco, TX.

It was the hottest day of our trip (and of our summer), we were sweaty but full of smiles for this fun day in Dallas (and Waco).

After breakfast, we made our way to Klyde Warren Park for an afternoon of food truck eats and splash pad play time. Boy was our day hot, hot, and more hot but what a beautiful and hot day it was down town.

After exploring the park, we previewed all of the trucks and I of course came back to my favorite gourmet grilled cheese truck, Ruthie's. I do also have a love for Butcher Brothers Food Truck for their delicious slider options as well.

To cool off a bit, we made our way to the splash pad. The kids loved their dip in the water, even if we didn't have bathing suits with us. It was a perfect way to enjoy our hot summer fun day in the sun.

Magnolia Silos
Waco, TX

While the kiddos rested (we were not gifted with naps from either child in the car), we drove to Waco, TX to visit Chip and Joanna's Magnolia Silos. At 98 degrees, Waco was brilliantly hot but what a perfect little family activity.

 They even provided umbrellas for this bright and sunny day.

To cool off from this hot summer fun day, we enjoyed snow cones from Summer Snow. It was delicious and gave us some yummy red tongues.

And of course we had to make a stop by the shop. What adorable designs and more importantly amazing air conditioning. 

It was a long, hot, wet, and MOST IMPORTANTLY fun day with our family.     

Kendall Visits "the Dallas": Day TWO

We did day TWO big!
On Thursday while Ray finished one final day of work, I enjoyed showing Kendall (with the kiddos) around town. It may have been a bit rainy, but we enjoyed a sonic drink (this became a thing during our visit), some tunes, and sites around North Dallas. For lunch, we visited the husband's office. It was fun running into and catching up with a few of his co-workers and showing Kendall and the kids his office.

For lunch we enjoyed Grimaldi's at Watters Creek. 

It was a fun day of outdoor play, of Margaritta pizza and dessert, of happy smiles, and a little duck, duck, goose.

Day two was a big day of big outings, pizza slices, fun games, and more relaxing nights at home.    

Cousin Kendall Visits the Dallas: Day ONE

We were so incredibly excited to give our niece, Kendall, the gift of a visit to "the Dallas" for her graduation present from college. I mean it was a bit selfish of us as we wanted to enjoy such sweet time with her.  BUT we were so thankful we were able to steal her away for a few days to celebrate and enjoy some good family time and to show her some Texas (and Oklahoma) charm.

On Wednesday morning after dropping Aubrey off with friends so that she may go to her ballet class, Ray, Liam, and I made our way to DFW airport to welcome Kendall.

Bubbie definitely enjoyed his time walking around the baggage claim. When cousin, Kendall, arrived, he was all smiles and helped us in her welcome to the Big D.

After leaving the airport, we enjoyed a little pick me up from Starbucks and picked up big sister. For an afternoon of fun, we made our way (in a lot of traffic) to the Richardson Food Truck Park. It was a cute little area with delicious food, tasty drinks, and a lot of fun. As we told our niece, it was honestly the coolest we've been in a while. There we ate some very tasty chicken and beef nachos, sipped on pretty pink drinks, enjoyed the breezy day, let the kids splash in a blow up pool, and tried our hand at some giant jenga. We can't wait to go back.

I loved this super cute and colorful wall. It was perfect for a few family photo opts. The wind made it a bit more interesting, but I have to say I adore these photos. Smiles for days!

Our first day was filled with so much excitement for Kendall's arrival, delicious food, tasty drinks, and sweet memories with family. We loved this first experience at RFTP and can't wait to go back. After our first full day, it was so nice to be home and enjoy a movie night. So much fun, such sweet time, and so many great moments to come!
